Considering he's in a ******* division he wouldn't be an ATG. He'd be behind Ward in the 168lb ranks whatever happens now (and Calzaghe obviously) so top 3-5 at Super Middleweight. Not much in the grand scheme of things but as compliments go it's better than a kick in the teeth.
Nah, His division weren't that great when he was unbeaten, Plus his lost to the 2 elite fighters hes faced. Hes one of my favourite fighters though.
Who has Froch beat exactly? Kessler has beaten Froch, Froch can only settle the score. Both have lost to the very best. But Kessler faced Calzaghe, 10 times the skill and level of Carl Froch. A comparison to make is that BOTH Kessler and Froch have lost emphatically to Andre Ward. They shouldn't even be a Chinese whisper of being considered in a HOF conversation. Kessler can get closer if he beats Froch again. Froch cant do that if he wins. But neither are HOF and neither will be unless one of them topples Andre Ward. The best thing Froch can do is move up if he wins, and beat the champs at a higher weight. That alone will raise Froch's legacy. If he wants to be considered, then for me that is a necessary step for him to take. He hasn't actually beat many worth their salt. I can't see him beating Andre Ward, and that same can be said for Mikkel Kessler to. I still reckon his best win to date is beating Jean Pascal, you can throw the Arthur Abraham performance in there if you want. But thats more of a good performance than a big-win that enhances his legacy. I may get shouted at for being hard on Froch, I can assure you I'm not, I'm just being honest. The fact of the matter is, at this level in a lot of fights he has barely scraped through to get the W, and he has fought a lot of over rated hype jobs. He got pushed all the way by a 40+ Glen Johnson for crying out loud. He was getting schooled by Jermaine Taylor before the comeback in the final rounds. Fair play for staying in there, but you can't wipe away the 10 rounds he was ordinary, when Taylor tired again like in the Pavlik fight, Froch took advantage. Fair play. But Taylor contributed 90% to that defeat. His last two fights were against the protected Canadian-Romanian hype job Lucien Bute and Yussuf Mack (who?) ....and when he faced the best today in Andre Ward, he lost by a country mile. Carl Froch just isnt that good. Not as good as he or his die-hard fans thinks anyway. Tough fighter, proud fighter, good to watch. I'll give him that. Not a great though. Nowhere near IMO. He has fought top competition today because of what he is about. But his record aint actually that good when you look at it with a fine toothed comb.
Kessler would have to beat Ward to get in the HOF for me. He has lost to the two outstanding fighters he has fought.
The bit about Taylor is bollocks, I had Froch nicking it with a 10-8 round in the last even if Taylor survived, the judges probably had it wider for Taylor but to say it was a schooling for 10 rounds is not true And most of the rest is relatively unfair / biased

If you look at Kessler's record he hasn't really got that many notable wins, his best win is probably over Froch in fact and Mundine perhaps then against B level fighters like Andrade. He got a lot of credit for giving Calzaghe a tough fight but Froch probably has the better resume overall but then obviously has lost to Kessler himself.
