Yeah, Hagler was muscular but not a 'big-framed' person. With the muscles he was bang-on middleweight, 159 pounds. And he did right to stay at that weight. Qawi was a bona fide tank, just a little too short to be a full heavyweight.
Height also changes during the day... In the morning you're atleast an 1 taller than when you go to bed again. (Has to do with your spine)
This photo is very bad news for all boxers since Stallone is 5'9" at absolute max-most believe he is even shorter than that. He must have been wearing a phenomenal pair of elevator shoes!
Mosley isn't even 5'8" so SRL might be 5'9" if he's lucky according to this photo. I'd give Hopkins 6' flat but not 6'1". Hopkins is not that much taller than Danny Garcia whose 5'8 1/2" listing looks quite accurate.
6' 0 3/4 sounds very accurate for Holyfield. I think they often have measured heights at the Olympics and then fake heights for the pros.
Depends how tall those guys are. Hagler was no taller than Roberto Duran. Hagler was shorter than John Mugabi, though the tale of the tape listed Mugabi as an inch shorter he was clearly taller than Hagler.
Leonard is definitely taller than 5'8. I'm 5'8 and he was a clear 2 inches taller than me. People put too much stock in how tall people look in pictures. The only way to really tell is if they're facing eachother and the same distance from the camera.
I do remember that. Watching that fight and Mugabi is an inch shorter on paper and right there he is taller, although I forget if the camera was behind Mugabi with Hagler further away. A lot of people say Hagler was a small middleweight. I don't think so. I think his bone structure and build were a big middleweight. People rate height too much as indicators of weight. Tyson was shorter than Hearns, and Tommy fought at 147. It is about body structure as we all know
I don't think so. Besides being about Hagler and legit. heights, it also has photographic implications regarding positioning and people or objects, and certain perceptions relative to distance. I kind of like it.
