Which brits do you want to lose and why?

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by ginger warrior, Apr 30, 2013.

  1. Khan and cleverly are the 2 main targets of abuse on this forum,as they are british and world class you would expect everybody to be behind them yet that clearly isnt the case
As is the same with the england football team you always have people saying "i hope they get stuffed" whether its jealousy or not wanting to support certain players
But as a patriotic englishman i can assure you i have NEVER wanted a brit to lose a bout with an opponent from another country

We all are entitled to support whoever we want though and its not a team sport with the individual wearing the colours of the country

So have you ever wanted a brit to lose a fight against an international opponent and why
Also i would be very surprised if the welsh, scots and irish if they have gone against someone from their own country as they are normally very supportive

If anybody probably Fury. Other than that I can't think of many. I find Theophane a bit annoying, he seems to think he's a hell of a lot better than he is.

Can't say I mind Khan, him & his team come out with nonsense at times but he always gives good value in the ring.

I think Cleverly get's abuse to been Frank's champion more than anything else, the **** opponents aren't really Cleverly's doing

Depends on the fight really. I cant stand David Haye, always want him to lose ever since all that bull**** on Sky with PPV dud fights and his personality irritates me.

Khan it depends on the fight and stuff. I dont like this big push Golden Boy are giving him, he's not for me one of the very best fighters in his weight class. He is exciting but everyone can see his weaknesses and so many people want to see him KO'd.

Most of the rest I dont have any wish to see them lose, as far as I can think.

    Ginge,
Really for me it's never been about a fighter being either English,UK or Irish to follow them not a team sport.
My favourite fighter Hagler was only a kid when he fought Minter & he got what he deserved for some real stupid pre-fight comments Hagler forgave him after & never brang it up again was about his colour.
Not a big fan of Khan for different reasons his entourage & talking about being a world class P4P fighter sorry to say shed no tears at any of his three losses.
Generally always want our fighters to do well but for me if you have personal favourites I can get over where they are born!:good

Khan-talks absolute nonsense, excuse after excuse, blames others.A part of his popularity is the uk goin all politically correct.

    Klitshko to beat haye

    Barrera to beat hamed

    Chilemba to beat bellew

    lol what

  9. Is froch really that bad

I would describe him as a bit dull and yes arrogant but surely a top fighter has to have that belief

Look at mayweather, broner what about ali he was arrogance personified

He may not have their skills but i think he has their steely belief in himself needed to compete at that level

  10. The fact you even believe khans popularity is due to political correctness is a bit sad really

I was a big MAB fan so I wanted him to win against both Hamed, and Khan.

Nothing against either of them, I just wanted Barrera to win.

I never want a fighter to lose, I just want other fighters to win.

    You're a ****ing moron

His popularity is due to him carrying team GB boxing team in the 2004 olympics when he was 17.

Apart from the peterson fight where he did get screwed over, who has he blamed for his losses, Garcia - 'I take all the blame', Prescott - 'Back to the drawing board'.

Why does a guy like Khan get picked on for talking stupid ****, most of them do.

Froch may not be that good, he has still fought the best and took on all comers to have a right for that arrogance.

I have nothing against any brit fighters but I hope Chilemba beats Bellew next month though. After his pathetic antics during and post fight, he needs someone to shut his massive trap up.

I criticise a lot of British boxers and some I find annoying, I like some more than others, but I'd want a Brit to win, even against some of my foreign favourites

I think it's a modern mentality of enjoying seeing someone fail.

To quote the Green Goblin: 'the only thing people love more than seeing a hero succeed is to see a hero fail, fall, die trying!'

I was generally pleased that Hamed lost. But in hindsight he was probably the most naturally gifted fighter we've produced, so a bit of a reality check.
