why is floyd performance against Ortiz before the KO never talked about?

That's right nothing special. Just like your post history. Just another night of Floyd whooping ass and unfortunately an opponent who's best answer was a blatant headbutt.

Ortiz was continously catching him with his strongest shot, right hooks over May's philly shell.


It felt like ortiz was gauging may's power, after this awkward slapping flurry may hit ortiz with, ortiz grinned. It was as if he realized at that point, may had hit him with every shot in his arsenal other than his lead left hooks, and realized may had no real pop to hurt him.

He then began to pressure floyd hard. The momentum was swinging in ortiz's favor in a bad way.




Other than the random times ortiz tries to box off the backfoot in every fight, ortiz was a terrible style matchup for floyd, especially after a year off. I fully believe ortiz was on his way to stopping or giving floyd a beating.

Floyd was getting hit with the same shot...over...and over again over his philly shell. And he was getting stunned. 8 more rounds of that, to say that a Mosley moment couldnt have happened....you're deluding yourself. Ortiz was ALWAYS the most physically gifted out of the 140lbers. 5'9er with speed and pop in both hands weighing 165lbs on fightnight.



Watch the fight again. Count how many times ortiz continously lands right hooks. *****s would have you believe it was a 4-0 schooling with floyd never getting touched.

This is why I feel Guerrero has no chance, that lead right by Floyd had Ortiz scared to even commit, plus Floyd was much more active than he's been in a while, I think against Guerrero he has another high workrate where all the rounds are one sided

 

First 2 rounds were fairly close... Floyd won the 3rd easily. Victor started landing in the 4th before the headbutt and the Sucker Punch KO!

I always found it funny how there was thread after thread saying it wasnt a sucker punch or a cheap shot.


Yet not a single "Knockout of the Year" thread was seen by a single ***** that day.

 

I dont think there was a big out cry due to Victors antics! It was still a horrible ending to a championship fight... It was laughable! God Awful... Then Floyd took another year off..
