Your not alone...i had nearly 200 in real money and free bets on Moreno points I backed Dawson to beat Ward
Judah to get knocked out within 4 rounds against Garcia. Probably before that was picking Judah to win against Cotto. I also picked Mosley to beat Cotto.
That last one has been overturned and most viewers had Sturm winning it, so that wasn't such a bad call. But I agree with the Scott vs Glazkov fight. I was sure Scott would get pummeled in there. And Donaire vs Rigo being the other one for me. There was no doubt in my mind Rigo would get KO'd in that fight, and I was secretly expecting it to happen inside 3 rounds. :!:
Most of these in here are fights where you did not go out on such a limb. I can relate to many of them. As far as the directly above; had Abraham losing to Dirrell and Ward but I too thought he'd beat Froch in a war, Glazkov over Scott but was largely unfamiliar with both (boy how that fight changed the opinion on Malik overnight), Guerrero/Berto and Alvarado/Rios II are fights myself and the mass majority incorrectly predicted, also I backed Moreno and Dawson but I thought they would get robbed against Mares and Ward, so I guess technically those don't count but... yeah. Chappy112, don't feel so bad about Donaire/Montiel I'd say a solid third of folks were picking Montiel. As for Litzau/Broner... well... I mean, the Caballero win was really good?
^^ Yeah, they aren't necessarily my worst predictions, they are just wrong picks. Can't think of any bad predictions I have made recently that has gone against the masses. I did pick Trout over Canelo, but was confident Canelo could at least make it close.
I messed up on these bad boys within the past 2 years: Edgar Sosa SD Wonjongkam; I thought Pong was ripe for defeat but was a year too soon Segura over Viloria; Segura was the favorite and I believed in his raw ability even moving up Dawson TKO10 Pascal; yeahhhh, although I did think the fight was one round closer than most Allan Green SD Glen Johnson; Glen moved down to sub in, I thought it'd be close but not what it was Williams UD Sergio II; said no result would shock me before, but I was confident in PWill Bute UD Froch; and I didn't believe in Bute one bit going into that, I too underestimated what Froch had left
Big Sturm fan? How did you score or feel about the Sturm vs. Macklin, Murray, and Geale fights? I've liked him more than most. I feel he has a pretty impressive and underrated MW resume, stacking up higher than most might initially feel. I think he has an ATG jab. If people rated punches like they do with ATG/HOF/classes below HOF type ranking, I would rate his jab as ATG. But for as this relates to the thread, most of the notably famous "robberies" of late have been failed predictions on my part had the "robbed" gotten the rightful win, so while correct I never saw these coming; Macklin/Sturm, Helenius/Chisora, Lara/Williams, JMM/Pac III, Abril/Rios.
I'd only seen Broner once and that was against PDL where I thought he lost and Litzau just beat Caballero so I thought it made sense.. then he gets blasted out of there in 1 round. :rofl As for more recently I picked Rios over Alvarado and Trout over Canelo but I wouldn't say those are terrible picks. Bute over Froch was pretty bad though!
Damn ... That's not only doing a wrong prediction. That's not knowing **** about boxing, at this level. :hat
Ouch on Haye/Wladimir... They won't come out of the woodwork, but there were a lot of them out there... (with ya on Donaire/Rigo)
