I think the way to beat him is to out box him if you can match him athletically and iq wise you have a good chance only time I've seen people really win round off him is by outboxing him behind the jab and countering you have to out mayweather mayweather mental toughness is key

I think the reason Floyd has trouble with southpaws is because of his relative lack of experience fighting them. AFAIK, he's only fought 3. In the Corley fight, Merchant mentioned Floyd's dad calling from jail to tell Floyd's handlers not to let him fight another southpaw.

Lol. Another one. If you don't think the constant, determined pressure Margarito brings would cause Floyd problems then go ahead and keep dreaming. Floyd doesn't have the punching power of Mosley to dent his chin. Floyd also doesn't have the relentless assault Pacquiao had to keep Margarito at bay the whole fight. It would be very interesting to see Mayweather taking on someone with the size, endurance, and constant pressure of Margarito.

This thread isn't about how Mayweather could win. It's about who could cause problems. As soon as people start naming fighters people want to start defending Floyd and preaching why Floyd would win. Again, you can let your blind love for Mayweather go and admit that some fighters, like Margarito, would cause trouble. I love Mayweather as a boxer but as a boxing fan I could see Margarito's style giving Floyd problems simply because Floyd hasn't fought pressure fighters quite like him and realizing it takes a lot to keep Margarito off of you.

Come on Jason you hate Floyd at you know it.

What are your thoughts on Johnston and/or Casamayor? Surely they pose more problems than slowass Molasses Margarito?

But then he made adjustments. You have to come with a plan A, B, C and D for fighting Floyd.

margarito would not trouble Floyd. He is too slow and not smart enough. He would get treated like Corrales did minus the knockdowns.

I think tall fighter with a great jab who can actually fight tall would give him some issues. Paul Williams may have but his ass never used his height to his advantage and ducked down too much. Winky Wright comes to mind.
