The problem with that is Team Palle has called Winky! And he wanted no part at Kessler at this time! Same goes for Taylor! And Bute!

Hmm how do you prove to be the best fighter??? To fight the best availeble opposition. Who at 168 is better than Mundine?

Winky seems to be the one fighter KP will 'dis' and it seems to be from Winky's attitude pre title vs after title.

Palle negotiated with Taylors camp before and after the Kessler - Calzaghe fight! Taylor turned it down!

Well, if it wasn't signed it never happened, right? :rofl Seriously, Miranda gave them everything they asked for and where did that end up? To say Palle 'negotiated' has no credibility with me. Probably made a phone call so they could make claims.

Kessler is mandatory for the WBA-title - either Mundine fights Kessler or Kessler fights someone else for the WBA-title - only question is how long Mundine has before he has to fight the mandatory - considering that he is still to fight a mandatory it proberbly wouldn't be long.

What if they give Mundine till the end of the year, and he decides to fight Soliman first? There is no guarentee with that fight.

I'm sure Showtime can see the sense it that - although they are proberbly pissed at loosing the fight...

Actually they had something to do with it too - the put the fight on their program without a signed paper - that's putting pressure on Palle and he doesn't like that :(

Which Kessler opponent was a former lightweight? - Siaca?, Mundine?, Lucas?, Beyer?, Andrade? or Calzaghe?

After Kessler got the WBA belt the first time he went on to defend it against the mandatory abrod - then to unify - then a mandatory - then a unification atempt abrod again ... much can be said of Kessler - but he went for the fights - he didn't just sit at home fighting poor opponents like say Mundine or Dawson!

Palle verbally agreed to the fight. It was all a done deal waiting the signing. Boxing is done like this all the time. Often the actual bout agreements take a long time to complete as promoters work on refs, judges, hotel rooms, etc. The networks want a commitment to make the annoucement. If they wait for all the paperwork to be completed there would not be enough notice to promote the fight properly.

For those of you that think what Palle did was normal business in boxing are just dead wrong!

Well Miranda was/is kind of the last option! It seemed that he was the only one with any sort of a name that would face Kessler! So negotiating began (and was close to a done deal), then WBA replies to an approach by Team Palle and makes Kessler the mandatory challenger for the WBA title, and all of a sudden things is changed. Like it or not but a titleshot against Mundine is worth more than a fight against Miranda!

To me this makes a lot of sense!

Please read through this thread - and it makes a bit more sense. I totally agree that Palle is a dick and they are terrible at communicating and Kessler needs better management. But if this thread is somewhat right, then they might have made a good deal because Kesler will fight Miranda, Taylor, Winky at some point this year.

    Here it is:

Hey, I am not arguing their decision. If I were Kessler's management I would have done it differently. I still think a big win over a decent name in USA would have done more for Kessler's future than winning a paper belt against a guy he easily beat.

But, if they wanted to go this way, good for them. They just handled the situation completely wrong and they will get hurt in the long run. Nobody will want to do business with Palle in the future, especially here in the USA. He ****ed over Dibella, Warriors and Showtime. Word spreads quick in boxing....

I somewhat agree, but dont forget that Kessler has been marketed and if he has the belts he will naturally be in the mix. Dont forget. Even Showtime cant turn a legit champ down if people want too see him.

HBO actually might be more interested Kessler now because he's ****ed up Dibella.
