Who is ranked after RG in the WBC welterweight rankings?

 

Is it Khan? I said for a long time that he poses one of the more interesting fights for Floyd. I don't think Khan would win, but it would be a good fight.

 

Lets not forget that the WBC has a weird rule that would allow the Jr. Welterweight champion to be ranked #1 if he moves up a division...

Somebody that Floyd would have to know what he's was doing when Floyd was dominating at 21 . Floyd wasn't interested in Pac or Canelo because he doesn't know where they were when he was dominating at 21 .

Canelo , a real legit threat . Something that isnt in floyd vocabulary. All these 140-147 GBP guys are no hopers.

And how conveniant he waited out the toughest fights of career with a prime cotto, a younger / fresher mosley, margarito, pacquiao, etc. Floyd's too good? No he's too good at handpicking.

 

I don't think anybody could rightly criticize him for moving up to challenge the middleweight king, even though Martinez looked mortal against Murray.

The reward is the same, but it may now appear lower-risk to Mayweather with having seen how easily Murray was landing that southpaw-bane right hand. (which happens to be Mayweather's specialty)

Perfect time for it, really. At the bare minimum, boilerplate deal, it's automatic legacy enhancement with a title in one more division. (even if haters pick apart Martinez being "old & shot" or "never a legitimate full-sized 160lber to begin with" or "all hype with overrated competition" or whatever)

Beating Martinez will still be an excellent achievement on his resume. Canelo/Floyd is a fight I feel should happen. Canelo is a good deal bigger, and of course quite skilled. I think that would be a really good win on Floyd's resume and would be true mega-fight at this point.
