I have to call BS on Fat Dan's Wlad praising

    OK I like Wlad a great deal and obviously he's truly incredible. We all know this. No matter what the haters say,being unbiased,he is great.

    But Fat Dan is saying Wlad is the second longest reining heavyweight champion ever? NO Dan sorry.

    First of all it's hard to compare the different eras because these days we have 3 more title belts or something like that.

    Joe Louis and Larry Holmes were lineal champions. They held the real title,not some WBO or IBO belts. Wlad has only been Ring/Lineal champ for a few years now.

    Since 2009 when he beat Chagaev.

    Byrd was the top heavyweight Wlad beat him in 06, if it were the old days he would have been champ that night not have to unify

    It is quite obvious Wlad is the best since 06 and recognition is everything

    Holmes, based on what? He (barely) beat Norton who was got the title via an eliminator when Ali wanted to face Neon Leon, so technically he wasn't lineal then. Furthermore, Holmes was stripped of that title for refusing to fight the mandatory (Scott Frank was more important). He was then gifted the IBF title which was meaningless back then, and never unified.

    So no, it wasn't exactly a clean reign. Wlad's isn't perfect either, but he's no less of a real champ than Holmes was.

    Back then it was much easier to get the lineal belt because there weren't so many organizations.

    Wlad has been the recognized champ since 06. end of story.

    Holmes beat Ali to win the true heavyweight title. You cant lose the ring title unless you are beaten in the ring. So technically you dont make any sense. I never said Wlas wasnt the real champ. He IS THE CHAMP now yes but that didn't start when he won the WBO belt years ago. It started when he became the #1 fighter by winning the Ring title. Dan is saying "oh Wlaidmir has been heavyweight champion for whatever number of years..." But winning belts isn't the same thing as being the Lineal/Ring champ. Joe Louis,Ali and guys like that were undisputed,universally recognized world champions who reigned at the top. Dan is counting the reign from when Wlad beat Byrd but that is BS. Plus up until a few years ago,many people thought Vitali could still beat Wlad.
