He could have ended the Italian in 2-4 rounds.
He could have ended most guys after the Brewster loss earlier had he been more aggressive, Chambers he could have ended MUCH quicker.

Only Wach I'm 100% sure would have still been standing.

What about the Fraudley fight in which Haye didn't land a single punch during the first two rounds?

He had a $17m cheque waiting on wining tonight, but still stopped his man and knocked him down three times. Some dudes would have bored to a UD, not Wlad.

Haye's choice of words were misleading. Klitschko does not get paid per round....however, due to the business model of K2 promotions; the longer the fight goes on the more it suits advertisers.

If I recall correctly, McDonald's would pay some £300,000 (or whatever money it was) for a 30 second advert to a broadcaster (and stipulate they wanted it played X amount of times) and other advertisers would do the same (with varying degrees of money and seconds plugging their products).

Let's say, they had 10 companies who would potentially pay £2,000,000 in total for their products being advertised....if any of those companies failed to get their products advertised due to a quick KO or a KO EARLIER than their scheduled round (ie Mcdonalds in round 7 for example) then the promoters do not get paid; the company loses confidence and they don't negotiate again for another fight.

Haye was partly correct but his explanation needed further elaboration.

I hope I've cleared it up a bit better for you guys.

it is half true. the klitschkos get a part of the commercial money. the commercials are played for 10 rounds, then they end. i have heard that a 30 second spot cost 250000€. so yeah i think the get extra money with the commercials

I thought Haye lost because of his big toe. You mean all along David Haye knew Wlad wouldn't take him out because Wlad stands to make more money from a UD than a quick KO? You would think Haye would have gone all out knowing Wlad didn't intend to KO him.

Why would he let the fights go as long as they did?

Those 4 guys shouldnt have gone 6 rounds COMBINED with Wlad.

I got you , but still why knock them out before 12 if you can make an extra buck or two? Do you agree Wlad is a ****ing idiot and shitty businessman ?

I think the figure was along the lines of 75 000 euro per commercials between rounds.

But haters, think about it for a second:

He is THAT GOOD, that he feels confident enough to NOT TAKE HIS OPPONENT OUT asap, but prolong the punishment. And he did it with cream of the crop heavyweights, including David Haye ;)

That's a really confident move if that's true, but it's likely false.

This is the heavyweight where one punch can make a difference. It a stupid move to prolong the fight if you can take the other guy out in a round instead.

They already make millions. It's so pointless to make an extra 75,000 per extra round and risk getting KO'ed himself. I don't believe David Haye. If the Klits believe they're that good, then they must be mocking heavyweight division and laughing at boxing.
