His goal was to be on the inside as little as possible to make the fight very easy, but was anyone surprised to how clean Floyd was?

Most of his work inside was defensive measures. Guerrero would try to hit the body with his free hand while Floyd simply stopped it.

Robert's homeboi in the corner after the 8th round complained about "elbows". My reaction was stfu and pay attention to the fight. Floyd was unusually clean.

It be badass if Floyd pulled out his dirty tricks on the way to schooling a young fighter like Gasnelo Alvarez

  2. He held on a lot, which could arguably be described as fighting dirty.

I was more surprised by Guerrero's lack of dirty tactics. That was his only chance of winning. Guerrero executed a stupid game plan, you only have to look at his trainer. Maybe Ruben had Robert flexing his bicep and that would be enough to win a fight.

They underestimated Floyd oddly enough. Robert said as much in the post fight pressers by saying Floyd is better than he thought he was.

Floyd is more than capable fighting inside.

He's a lot older now, way past fighting prime, so looking to preserve his body as much as possible to ensure victories in the long term.

What's the point of putting yourself in a position where you can take unnecessary shots. Yes you look good in the short term and it brings excitement. But again he's highly conscious of his age and wants to minimize as much damage as possible so that he can outlast his next 5 fights with Showtime. It's not rocket science.
