    It's not just the Ponce fight. it's the way he's looked and what he's accomplished in the last couple of years.

    In a nutshell. 3 div champ, virtually shutout Agbeko in the rematch, moved up and out-slicked Anselmo, moved up and out-powered DeLeon.

    I'm not big on PFP lists but if the topic comes up Mares' name should too.

    It looked to me like the added weight was affecting him. He was beginning to get gassed in that fight, but with the added weight he also brought with him some extra POWER. I've been watching Mares since he first turned pro and I've never seen him land bombs like that before. Whoa! :shock:

    If there was a debate about him being in the top 10, it was settled after the Moreno fight. Last night was another good win and confirmation that he belongs with the elite.

    Mares has continued to impress after his low blow fiasco. Ate too many shots to the face for my liking, but shows he has a damn good chin.
