Mares makes it an uncomfortable and perhaps a dirty affair.

He would be far more of a stylistic challenge for Rigo than was Donaire.

 

Would love to see it.

Wouldn't mind seeing Mares fight Donnaire either.

 

Mares is a very good fighter, he is in my top 50.

IMO Rigo would win by KO within in 6...

cant see any one beating him , only problem i can see is getting fighters to take the fight with him. the next fights i would like to see him in would be mares and garcia or cruz think rigo beats them all tho

I think Mares has the same kind of chin that Donaire has and Donaire took shots from Rigo no problems until he got hit in the eye.

Mares is not a counterpuncher like Donaire and is more aggressive as we've seen against Moreno.

I see Rigo clinching and moving and Mares winning via low blows and Eddie Mora.

Nowdays the gap between them has increased: experience, speed, power with both hands and technical skills favor Rigo by far.

Donaire did not escape being knocked out due to his chin, Donaire did scape because of his weight (142 pounds). In Mares vs Rigo, weights would be not so different, so... Mares would be knocked out for sure.

 

Rigo will take it but with Mares' style he will put up a better fight than Donaire did

Mares was 17 when they fought in the amateurs.

I would favour Rigondeaux to win in a competitive fight. But I don't think their first means much now.

Any way, Mares became professional when he was 20 years, and he was nobody in amateur boxing world.
When Rigo was 20, he already was a world superstar and the Olympic gold medalist.

I said that the gap between them was increased in past ten years. Rigo accumulated a lot more expericence and increased his technical skills and power.

IMO Rigo would win 19 of 20 fights (15 by KO)
