Khan v Alexander in December

Alexander hits hard enough. People shouldn't forget about his knockout versus Urango. Just because he hasn't shown any brutal KO's like that on evidence since, doesn't mean he's a light puncher. I'd favor Alexander on form.

 

Smart move by team Khan if it comes off, its an elite opponent he can beat. Alexander doesn't have devastating power and he doesn't load up on power shots either, his knockouts come from breaking guys down or landing that picture perfect well timed shot.

If Khan can't beat pure boxers like Alexander then he's done at the elite level.

 

The Khan from the Kotelnik or Malignaggi fights beats any version of Alexander, but I didn't like what I saw against Diaz. He's clearly regressed or is seemingly stuck between two conflicting styles. At this point I have no idea who I'd favour. It's a tough fight for Khan, and a good litmus test to see just where he's at, at this point.

 

Alexander was excellent against maidana,strong and skilful

And boring as **** and poor against Bradley and Bailey

All depends on who turns up

 

They'll probably do this fight in the later summer or early autumn with the winner possibly fighting Mayweather at the end of the year. Floyd likely won't be back for September like he planned because he supposedly hurt his hand against Guerrero.

Spoke to a few mates about this fight and they all say it's very winnable for Khan. I don't agree personally, Devon's not a puncher but he's a very good boxer. Khan isn't top-notch when it comes to gameplans, perhaps he could out-box Amir?

That said, I've never thought Alexander is a million dollars, same reason I thought Brook would beat him. Would be an interesting fight and I'd be torn between them. Better Khan fighting him than fighting chicken feed like Diaz and Molina. Feel bad for Brook though.

 

Whatever the circumstances of the cancellation of the Alexander fight,the reality now is that Kell will have to earn his next shot,whoever its against,and take the chance like Purdy has.Talking of which,after his shot Ive got a feeling that after that people might not be talking about Alexander as a light puncher.It might be a reminder that he was the man who knocked out Urango when Ricky didn't.Regarding the winner of him and Khan fighting Mayweather,Id bet Guerrero could beat either of them.

 

Alexander is not a light puncher, he was drained in his last few fights at 140. But look at what he done to witter and urango. He seemed to boss around maidana too, had him backing up. Alexander takes khans head of his shoulders with a right uppercut.:bbb

 

I think Khan wins it. I will be honest,Ive not seen much of Alexander but what I have seen was not that impressive.
As for Brook,I feel a bit sorry for him as it is starting to look like he might be past his best by the time he finally gets a title fight. Should Khan win you would think it would be fairly easy to make a Khan v Brook fight.
