He became the champ at 154,and is floyds mandatory for the WBA belt..cant **** on this fight but justify the Guerrero fight man..Canelo earned his shot

Over all Great resume for a 22 year old and the start of something special if he keeps busy and keep racking up the names, Cotto in his resume and mayweather would do wonder for his career, wins against Molina/Lara would further his great resume.

Serious question. Who did Ortiz and Guerrero beat to warrant a fight with Floyd? Berto, right? Now, who was Berto best win before he lost to Ortiz and Guerrero? So why was beating Berto, so damn impressive that warranted a fight with Floyd? Afterall, Berto was coming off a loss (Ortiz) when he fought Guerrero and that win over Berto (who had lost to Ortiz a fight before) granted Guerrero a fight with Floyd. Now how do you excuse that?

 

To be blunt, as str1 indicated, Guerrero and Ortiz basically beat Berto to get their shots against Floyd, and Berto had beaten no one of note. Alvarez is "worthy" to fight Floyd by Floyd's standards with his win over Trout(though I thought Trout won the fight myself) and obviously the name value is there. He presents more of a risk to Floyd than Guerrero at least by virtue of the higher weight class and his punching power, though I'm still pretty sure Floyd handles him pretty easily if the fight goes down.

 

If we were talking about someone not ranked in the top 5 or 10 of their division than maybe those letter grade rankings would fly.

For an elite or world class fighter, your standards are way too low.

He has a tremendous quantity of solid victories, but the only ones that would be in the A range is Trout. B range you could try to make a case for Rhodes or Mosley. The rest are C range and Cuello, Jose, Lanardo are def in the D category.

Once again, based on the fact that he is a world class fighter. If Lanardo Tyner is a C-class victory, than the top fighters in the sport literally have nothing but A's and B's up and down their resume.

is clear he has done more than ortiz and guerrero, but not only that, he is the biggest money fight for floyd which nickname happens to be "money"...

 

The 154 champ has to earn the right to unify with the other 154 champ by beating the middleweight champ 1st

You shouldn't really have to earn anything tof ace floyd, just be the most markatable fight available at the time. And Alvarez is the most markatable fight available right now. So there's no reason not to make it.

 

Canelo's last victory alone is better than Guerrero and Ortiz's victory "that earned them shots" (Berto). And he brings far more money to the table.

It doesn't invoke memories of Harry Greb but for a 22-year-old, his resume looks pretty good.

To earn a Mayweather fight, you only need to be marketable and be perceived as having a legitimate chance. In that regard, you could argue he's a lot more worthy than some of Floyd's recent opponents.

 

canelo deserve the shot . lets see if floyd accepts his challenge, cuz its the one canelo wants and the fan wants. the only ones who dont want it are the guys who dont wanna see floyd lose. cuz they know canelo alot bigger and thats wut it boils down to. they dont want floyd to fight a guy on fight night that gunna outweight him by a good margin

Canelo beat that man made it look easy, out boxed, out fought, out worked, our slicked and dropped Trout.
