Surprised i dont see one thread about this fight this weekend. Burns is a solid but unheralded champion. And Gonzalez is an undefeated eternal prospect getting his first opportunity. Good fight with not much hoopla, i think gonzalez can win even though his fighting at burns place. Wouldnt surprise me to see gonzalez win by KO. :hat
At this point, probably the less said about Burns, the better. Let's just see if this upcoming bout shows us anything about either of these guys.
I don't know about Burns. He seemed to blatantly duck Broner, but at the same time, he was going to fight the more difficult Vazquez. It seems like Vazquez didn't want the fight as he was seen working even with his "virus." Who knows what the hell happened with that fight. I was hoping Vazquez would've unified the division and beat Burns.
Burns has amassed an impressive resume with entertaining and worthwhile contests. Roman Martinez, Paulus Moses, Michael Katsidis, Kevin Mitchell. Solid resume I do say.
Gonzalez clearly has power but he looks extremely crude. Burns isn't the type of fighter to get caught by silly shots. I expect him to outbox Gonzalez pretty comfortably. He looks to be hitting a lot harder at LW so a stoppage is not out of the question.
Burns Interview after open workout the other day [yt]9xhsxzlCwhk[/yt] Billy Nelson (Burns trainer) interview also inwhich he says Burns beats Broner in his opinion 6m10s [yt]bge-QBWQIJ0[/yt] Rickster/Chelo Gonzalez presser [yt]4wok4M3aDXA[/yt] I believe this will be a tough test for Burns, Chelo is no mug, has plenty skill and good ko power, 22 undefeated with 17 kos aswell, wouldn't surprise me if it end up being the toughest fight Ricky has had
135 was always a top three division in boxing but lately is a little bit down with no superstars fighting at this weight. :hat
I personally dont care about Burns he ducked Broner disgracefully:dead Cant bother listening to his ****, did he say i will duck Broner till the end:huh
