I agree. Jones wouldn't blow Ward out of the water, but he'd outbox him and cautiously pick his spots. It wouldn't be a great action fight but would a lot of run to watch with a tactical eye. Jones 8-4 decision.

Yeah because we all know how Roy Jones was so eager to fight guys who were considered top notch in his prime. With the exception of a weight drained James Toney who else did he beat at middle weight who you could consider in their primes and great? Jones would duck Ward like he ducked everybody else until the end of his career when " Superman" needed money.

I think the Hopkins, Toney and McCallum that Roy fought were all at the level Andre Ward is now, as far as styles go. All 4 of them have similarities. Toney barely won 1 round, Hopkins lost 8-4, McCallum didn't win one round.

Roy wins an 8-4 kind of decision against the best Andre Ward we ever see.

Neither guy wanted to make the fight according to the other.
Roy wanted 60/40 so he could kick Ward's ass.
Ward wanted the fight in Oakland with his uncle as ref.
Fight never happens, Roy continues to KO Parks Department employees and Ward headbutts his way to a UD every other year.

Jones, Ward is good enough to make it competitive, but Jones wins and clearly enough.

I think what anti-Roy fans mean when they say Roy fought policemen and fire fighters is a compliment that that's how Roy Jones made every one he fought look. They just don't know it, but that's how they really mean.

Also, Gonzalez, Vaca, Sosa, Griffin, Del Valle, Harding. Gonzalez and Harding are two of RJ's most underrated wins.
