The last Bellew card was a decent card on paper but the fight itself was horrid and as a result have no interest of seeing it again and whatever casual's that watch the rematch may be put off of boxing for the rest of their lives.

It was that bad and the return will be no different.

I'll be surprised if it does anymore than 250k in the UK. Which would be pretty good anyway.

Add to the fact that HBO are showing it aswell. I think the numbers should be pretty good. A lot of people saying they won't buy it, for a number of reasons, will still cough up.

250k would be good, anymore than that would be exceptional IMO.

I reckon about 50k. I'm no expert but I don't think this fight has much going for it in the way of appeal to anyone other than people like us lot who happily stay up til 6am to watch a Chad Dawson fight

I'm not buying. So what ever figure you had, please minus one. Thank you.

Edit: only if you included me in your initial workings. Otherwise, please disregard.

Don't worry. I had already PM'd him to tell him that you were coming to mine and Janet's to watch it so his findings were as accurate as possible.

Bring a cheesecake if you can, please.

No worries, Tim. Will do mate. Also, last time, Janet didn't leave enough room for me to park on the drive. My bumper was all over the curb, and ****. :conf

Think this could do quite well being after the Champions League final. Lots of groups will get together to watch the football and think "let's keep the sport going".

Not sure why we keep having to go over this.

This is a one fight card that is being aimed at the casuals.... Froch is still a bit niche, and lots of people think niche is cool. I think a lot more casuals will buy this than people think.

They are trying to make sports fans feel stupid for not knowing who Froch is, hence the reasons many will fall for the hype and buy it.

Now the Champions League final isnt the glamour tie people were hoping for, even more groups of mates will end up buying it.

Champions League Final + Boxing = a good night all round.... No **** is buying this for the undercard.... I am buying it, I buy them all..

  13. Putting the fight on the same night as the champions league final is a disaster. Its one of the busiest nights of the year for pubs as most of the football/sports fan will be down their locals watching the match, obviously all these places will show the fight but most would anyway.

On numerous times over the years I've walked into a pub and asked if they were showing the fight and they didn't even know it was on but got it anyway because they knew id be there drinking all night, otherwise id find a bar that was showing it and spend my money there, the landlord at my new local even subscribed to BN cause he knew id be there most fight nights spending money.

You can bet sky will be promoting the **** out of it during the football so every pub will buy it and all these people who were thinking about going home and watching it wont have to.

I think it will be a major flop.

Do groups of blokes actually gather round at one persons house to watch the football, or do they go down the pub together and watch it there?

It's a shame the pascal fight is off, made it more of an event.
