it was a tough fight, lewis wasnt always in the best shape or mental states in his fights sometimes i think he felt he would win if he just showed up and boxed a bit! i think Vitali really suprised lewis in the fight i am sure he wasnt expecting it to be this tough. Vitali was ahead on the cards and Lewis's corner and the crowd were a bit anxious as No-one quit realised just how good Vitali was. the fight should of been stopped and TKO6 is a fair call, however would lennox of won that fight? i dont know, the punch which cut him was huge, it would of dropped any other of lewis's opponents but vitali ate it like a champ and kept coming. no doubt lennox was slightly relieved the fight ended there, if it didnt lennox would need to be very agressive for the next 6 rounds to be sure of a decision or KO. One thing is for sure there is a very good reason lennox has never had much intrest in a rematch.
You act like he was down 6-0 . . . atsch, I think LL would have KOed his ass in the next round because Vittles was hanging on for dear life at the end of the fight but that doesn't really matter because Lennox was in a groove and starting to put rounds in the bank. None of this matters because Lennox's fist caused the damage that ended the fight . . . TKO6. All this talk about a rematch is a just silly. As it has been proved on this thread several times, lennox was thinking about retirement long before this fight was even thought of and that he wanted one more big fight and he would call it quits. Vittles had no right to a rematch and should have finished off the vulnerable ATG when he had a chance. Don't blame Lennox for ended his career for when he planned blame Vittles for not sealing the deal . . . most of the time you do not get a second chance in life.:bart
Few weeks and its 10 year anniversary of tko6 Happy tko 6. Lewis technically knocked out vitali in june. 10 years since the last great heavyweight fought. a man you could say he will beat anyone in the world with 10oz. Happy tecnical knocked out day
It´s not true that Lewis always did better in rematches.. Holyfield was much more competitive in the second fight. In the first fight Ruiz won 9 rounds against Holyfield (Ruiz was robbed, even if you gave holyfield ALL the benefit of the doubt it would be 114-113 Ruiz) The second fight Holyfield got nearly KOd, I really like watching the last 2 rounds of the second fight and when the scores got announced the Ruiz team is just so happy. Ruiz in his first 2 fights against Holyfield did just as good or better than Lewis against Holyfield. Ruiz also fought Rahman while Vitali retired in shame to duck Rahman. In the end it is tko6. The rematch wouldn't have mattered, Lewis was the old man ready for retirement while Vitali was the young lion. He had his chance, he failed. A rematch would have been worthless. Ruiz>Vitali btw in terms of greatness.
Stop making fan of new members. since vladimir23 does not post here anymore I am going to educate the fish before he gets in trouble. Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis THE TRUTH Vitali took the fight on just 10 days notice. Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial bull**** doctor stoppage. Lewis barely survived the 2nd round and almost got KO'd, he was out on his feet, badly hurt, holding on for dear life, wobbling everywhere and staggering around the ring like a drunk. Lewis was badly hurt several times in the fight, he was battered from pillar to post, outslugged, outgunned, outmuscled, outskilled, outboxed, outlanded in every round, dominated and outclassed by Vitali. Punches Landed Vitali 156 Lewis 102 Lewis was exhausted, worn down and hurt from the accumulation of punches and was ready to get KTFO again, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was clearly the fresher of the two, he would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued. After the fight, Vitali intimidated the **** out of Lewis and made him look like a *****. The whole crowd cheered for Vitali and booed Lewis out of the arena. Lewis promised Vitali a rematch. Vitali destroyed Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and called out Lewis again in the post fight interview. The gutless coward Lewis retired shortly after that fight. Lewis turned down 40 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew he would get destroyed by Vitali. Vitali dominated Lewis and scared him into retirement. Vitali proved he's the superior fighter. George Foreman: "Vitali was winning the fight. Lewis got lucky. There has to be a rematch!" Jim Lampley: "A lucky escape for Lewis who was clearly losing the fight" Even Emanuel Steward was upset and pissed off at Lewis for blatantly ducking a Vitali rematch. Lewis is scared to death of Vitali.
Bremen you are truely the last of the Vitali'ans. Keep carrying the torch proudly, dont let the flame die. I respect your attitude. You're like fighting against windmills in this one. ´ Never give up man. Maybe some day they shall see the light.
That Vitali got stopped in the 6th round on cuts, some "men" argue that the cuts caused were from illegal punches so that the fight was a TD victory for Vitali. To long didn't read?: TKO6
So I see that this thread is still active and well Beating Klitlickers to shame, mods just won't ring the bell The result never changes thought try as they might It doesn't matter if you're stopped when you're winning the fight Razor dreads, pointy thumbs, used to gauge out his eyes Unfair to Quitali, he should've left with the prize Losing 3 rounds to 2 is being "completely schooled" The refs and doctors paid off to have poor Quitali fooled Lewis promised a rematch to fight a second time Despite being 38, bloated, and stopping Quitali in his prime It's been almost two months and I needed my fix Lennox Lewis beats Quitali in TKO 6.
Foreman also said that the fight should have been stopped earlier because of how bad Klitschko's eye was. So once again we come full circle to the fact that Vitali wasn't as durable on the night as Lewis, could not stand up to the punishment Lewis inflicted and didn't take his chance to knock Lewis out when he was dominating in the first two rounds before it became a slugfest when Lewis changed tactics. Which means - say it with me people - Vitali couldn't do what McCall, Rahman and Mercer could.
Ok I've been a TKO6 defender for a very very long time, as long as some of the other guys who post here. JAB, JISI, IB, MAXIMUS, FELIXTRINIDAD etc etc. Reading Bremen's last post, I thought long and hard and theres one thing I must say. He really really opened my eyes. TKO6 :lama :hammertime artytime:bananamaniac:woot:bushmj:dancewha:
