PPV: Cable/satellite providers take a 50% cut of every buy

    yeah they claimed to have made 20 million dollars from sponsors against either Cotto or Ortiz.

    i believe it's usually both the cable companies and the network that split 50% between them. The rest goes to the event promoter. So it's probably in the high 30%, low 40s range for cable/satelite providers

    Showtime has nothing to do with ticket sales.

    Showtime paid Mayweather a guarantee of $32 million to air his fight. Ticket sales belong to the promoter (GBP and Mayweather Promotions).
