Let me just throw out a quote from the almighty Floyd Mayweather before the Cotto fight:

I said that he struggled at 154 against Cotto and that 147 is his best weight. Don't act like my points are totally asinine, expert.

I'm speaking from my point of view. I don't work for Floyd and none of my statements are his. I'm just posting my opinion on a boxing forum.

While I think he beats him at 154 anyways...I wouldn't mine a same day weigh in...even though it won't happen. That way, he's still fighting at 154...and won't balloon up to 170+..and fight skill vs skill instead of size vs skill..but thats just my opinion

Canelo is a 154 champ, a legit one now with his great win over Trout. Not a 147 champ. Floyd can fight both 147-154 comfortably the weight never made him look vulnerable it was the better opposition. Even past their primes Oscar and Cotto better fighters than Ortiz and Guerrero. Canelo coming down to 147 thats some clown****.

Opinions are frowned up on in this establishment. You will immediately be :patsch or:lol:...and called a casual fan among other hurtful and slanderous terms.

You think it was the quality of the competiton? Do you think Cotto looked good against Mayorga at 154?

I see..but oh well...I don't see why its such an issue..they would still be fighting at 154. It seems like people only want him to have that big weight advantage to see Floyd lose. Because it most def won't be because of skill. But i doubt he fights at 154 anymore anyways...I doubt his dad lets him go back up..

This, and I think Floyd gives up the belt whether he fights Canelo or not.. He may want the Canelo fight for the money, but I can't see him wanting to continue to defend against the bigger guys at 154 in his last few fights, knowing he has guaranteed money.
