Can someone explain to me why the Hell Gatti is in the hall of Fame?

Bingo! The same mental midgets that give writers like Gabe Montoya a BWAA membership are the same idiots who setup the HOF.

Following your logic, a reciever like David Tyree should be in the pro football HOF because he was part of an epic super bowl and made one of the most memorable catches in NFL history.

In short, NO....thats why the boxing HOF is littered with tool boxes and the same can't be said for most other major sport HOFs. Just my 2 cents

  3. Your missing the point, Gatti is not de la Hoya, he is not Mayweather, totally got it, but go make a list of guys that have four fights of the year and involved in one of the greatest trilogies and it will be a very short list, Micky ward comes close who also had fight of the year outside of Gatti vs ward. These guys provided many great memorable boxing moments, their fight of the year awards prove my point, they were great, great for fans and great for the sport of boxing, always on the cusp of doing something big, and sometimes they did, both have titles as well. I know Judah has always said I have been with the best, but my toughest fight where I had to dig real deep to get through the fight was Micky Ward.

I can name TONS of pro football players who have yet to get into the HOF and they had HOF talent. It's how it is when the HOF of the sport is actually selective in who they allow in. With boxing, you likely just have to slip a 100 dollars to someone in one of the sanctioning bodies or to the HOF itself.

  6. Yes, exactly like that Gatti to the hall of fame is like a football player who made a great catch, your analogy is the worst analogy in here yet.

  7. **** your dumb, I guess everybody could be champ then, wait maybe we can make money with this, so the secret is to cut twenty pounds, brilliant!

maybe you're to limited to understand the analogy, but the argument was that FAME gets you into the boxing HOF. That's not the way it works in every other major sport, only boxing. Tyree is famous because of that catch and there is no way in hell he would get into the HOF. Never mind that he essentially almost won the SB with that catch.

really?! So who cuts 20 lbs at 147 or lower? Go ahead and go back a few years.

  10. Is Gatti in the hall if fame because one fight, or did he have a lot of great fights, there is your answer that you don't seem to understand. Thank god Boxing hall of fame is not only fixed on stats, but also open to fighters who made big impacts and contributions, which he did, and you can't figure it out, cuz your going to stare at boxing rec all day, I saw all the fights so I get it

I didn't say he didn't deserve to be in THIS boxing HOF. He clearly does because their criteria for getting in is reprehensible, just like most of shady **** that has gone on in this sport for years. Boxing is the wild wild west of all major sports and the inclusion of mediocre talent into it's HOF is only a reflection of the sport's state itself.

On a side note, perhaps you should work on your grammatical skills and maybe one day you can make it into the "I graduated HS" HOF. :patsch

If you can't appreciate gatti then you should probably stop watching boxing.Love the sweet science but there's enough room in the H.O.F. for warriors who captivated the sport like gatti.

  13. I have a BS in Occupational Safety, I am typing on my iPhone, and I am not trying to impress you, you must be an elementary school teacher, Sorry Mrs. Jenkins. Please put up more of you posts where you whine about how corrupt boxing is, and how it is the wild west. I am sure we all want more, I have never heard that before when I wanted to discuss boxing

  14. Some of these ******s don't get it, they are probably the ones I run into where they say they like boxing too, and then everything they say it dumber than the last

Same people that justify it are the same ones that will argue against someone like Zab Judah getting in...though head to head it's a huge, huge mismatch.
