What's funny here is, Mayweather is known as the ducker yet he and Pac have ducked the same amount it looks .... At least Floyd doesn't get KTFO and outboxed by his cherrypicks :hey
I think Floyd is more calculated in the low-risk, high-reward game. However, Bob Arum has naturally had an invested interest in Pac. I don't really see who Pac should've fought, and then fought instead. Yeah the Margo one was a purely business move by Bob. But Berto, Ortiz... these are laughable post-hoc examples. Let's be frank, Pac is a small WW and he's a little smaller than Floyd. So while Pac-Martinez at 154 was discussed, Floyd-Martinez would have been a more preferable fight. Any non-biased fan would agree with that. Pac never fought at a 154 for a reason. He has to eat a big breakfast to even make it around the 146 marker. I still think Pac at even a 145 catchweight against Cotto is better than any WW win Floyd has. However, that's just a technicality. Floyd has Oscar at 154 which probably triumphs either man's JR WW + achievements. And while Floyd fans can try and act like Cotto at JR MW was better than at WW, Pac fans can always insist that Hatton at JR WW is a better win then because that's actually his best weight. The latter is a little more logical, but Hatton probably was in better form for the Floyd fight regardless of what is each fighter's "best" weight. As for catchweights. Pac at least adheres to them. And it has only been three catchweights? One which wasn't for Pac's benefit (Marquez III).
Umm they fought Mosley after he got near shut out by Mayweather and struggled to a draw with Mora. Stop trying to spin this **** foo.
There are some Morons here ( Michigan Homo and Turbo ) that keep on yapping about how Pac ducked Mosley. So here is the evidence to disprove there thoughts. Mosley vs Marg 24th January 2009 at 147lbs Pac Vs ODLH 6th December 2008 Before Pac fought ODLH he was fighting at LW ( ONE fight only ) So refusing to face Mosley ( who in my opinion was more a threat than ODLH ) until Pac was more comfortable at fighting in the 140s is NOT a duck. Also I think it is Michigan homo, who brought up Martinez and Williams hhhmm yeah Like Pac is ever gonna face people over 147..After the Marg fight he said never again. But who was it that said he would fight the winner of the above forementioned?? Oh yeah Fraud Willnever. Fraud is exactly what Fraud means. Get over it you nut hugging homo-fobo's
Jesus Christ. Yeah I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on this topic as clearly you're not an unbiased "fan".
Trust me, Mayweather isn't one to be "forced" out of his comfort zone unwillingly. If he's making a move up there he's doing so because he wants to 100%. He doesn't exactly have any proper options at 147 anyway.
Some great posts from PetethePrince. I have to admit it is hard to deny Mayweather's calculated road at welterweight. That retirement at his peak and failiure to make the Pacquiao fight will forever remain an irremovable stain. Which is such a tragedy and irks me to this day because I was 100% convinced he would beat Pacquiao and I was standing to make lots of money from it. And regarding catchweights we need to remind ourselves of the days when most of these weight classes didn't even exist. In the age of having 30 plus hours to rehydrate it makes very little difference to me what weight they're contracted to be at. Cotto at 145 is still by far more formidable than anything Mayweather has done at welterweight. As proven by him later on going to give Mayweather his most physically enduring fight since Castillo one despite him worsening and slowing down from the beating Pacquiao had already given him.
I see who your favorite active fighter is too. I'm a fan (FM skills more so) & appreciator of both which is why I say they both made business moves. I don't ever see Turbo get this rowdy regarding FM in the classic section. But he goes into fan-mode a little harder in the general. What's a better WW win than Cotto for Mayweather? Mosley? Yeah I know, catch-weights, re hydration clauses. The ****er was drained. Yadda yadda yadda.
