In reality, we don't know if he'll fight more or less than 5 more times. However, if we take Mayweather at his word, here's what his final 5 fights should look like. In this order; Saul Alvarez Manny Pacquiao Sergio Martinez Amir Khan(If he can avoid getting his head taken off in the meantime) Adrien Broner All of these fights probably won't happen, but a guy can dream can't he?
The Alvarez fight is pretty much a lock as well. I could see the Pacquiao fight happening at some point. The Martinez fight is a stretch.
I honestly think that he's going to take the fight with Manny Pacquiao soon. Wait for Manny to slip even further, let him get beat up a bit and it's on..60:40 Mayweather $ 1. Canelo catchweight 2. Khan-Alexander winner 3. Garcia-Matthysse-Peterson tourney winner. 4. An established Crawford or Thurman if he can get past 1 or 2 more names. 5. Pacquiao - Spread the story
Gasnelo Alvarez Garcia or Maidana Gasnelo Alvarez I'm not trying to predict too far in the future. Boxing has elements of randomness that cause change.
Out of that list, Khan and Canelo are possible. None of the others will happen. He'll probably fight Devon Alexander, Danny Garcia possibly.
Floyd will face almost none of them bar Khan. My money is he won't fight anyone in a higher division than he is.
He will fight (and KO) Khan. That's it from that list. His next fight I'm willing to bet will be Danny Garcia. Khan will probably get to fight Mayweather in Manchester. If Matthysse wins vs. Peterson... That fight is a lock. Canelo won't ****ing happen ever. If Mayweather gives ANYBODY a chance to actually win it's gonna be Broner in Mayweather's final fight.
I think the Alvarez fight is very interesting. Many people claim he will never fight Alvarez, yet I would say around 70% or more of people would pick Mayweather if he actually did fight Canelo.
I agree. I can't believe many people are naive enough to believe that Floyd will really fight 5 more times. I think Floyd fights 2 or 3 more times, and then retires.
