    He doesn't need to publicly make excuses. The writing is on the wall. Floyd knows he looked shitty against Cotto at 154 and that Canelo is a beast at that weight.

    I guarantee you that Floyd/Canelo negotiations have gone something like this:

    Canelo: Ok lets fight at 154
    Floyd: Nah, lets fight at 147 and you take 80/20
    Canelo: Um... no and no.
    Floyd: BRB, calling Guerrero.

    The fight will never take place. Quit dreaming, quit talking about it. It just won't happen.

    Jim Grey asked him after the Guerrero fight if he will fight Canelo next.

    Floyd didn't answer the question. He didn't even say anything like "I would love to fight Canelo but we'll see." No, he just dodged it. "I have to go back and talk to my team and see who's next, my next date is in September."

    Everyone knows that if it doesn't happen now, it probably won't ever happen because of the weight issues. Some are trying to justify "delaying" the fight just for that reason

    i can see canelo going up to 168 whether he's successful at that weight or not is a different question.

    You know I was thinking just recently that he can't have much room to make weight with that weight gain he had. The longer Floyd makes Canelo wait for the fight in a way the better chance he has because his stamina is already shaky if he struggles to make weight his tank is gonna get empty FAST!

    I wouldn't be surprised if he hit a brick wall like Rios did and couldn't make weight in the very near future.....

    It's all quite intriguing really.....
