why would you want to roll on the ground where a whole gang of thugs could easily kick you in the face.

people don't grapple and execute submissions in a real street fight. A concrete pavement or an uneven ground isn't the octagon canvass. People naturally fight standing up.

it's interesting how you hear mma guys still talking on boxing, but you never hear boxers talking on mma. Boxer have already spoke on mma and moved on.

Yes because no boxer knows how to street fight :patsch

And James Toney is a great example :patsch

And Jones vs Mayweather is a legitimate fight to talk about given the physical dimensions of the two :patsch

    So much fail

If they were the same size Floyd would school and embarass him in a boxing match.

MMA true art of fighting? Last I checked MMA has rules like boxing, so it isn't the 'true art of fighting.' It's a sport.

**** Jon jones. uFC doesn't allow low blows, stomping, kneeing downed opponent so how the hell is that real fighting. And mma ***** boys love to bring up toney couture and conveniently forget about mercer silva. Jones is jealous that Floyd makes more in one fight then he s gonna make in his entire pathetic career

yeah but one to one street fight still often finish on the ground though. Doesn't mean that the MMA techniques are the best to fight on the ground in a street fight.

Look, not to be a killjoy in terms of MMA here, but having a crowd of thugs, and I don't mean wannabe thugs, but streetsmart thugs kicking the **** out of you, is something else.

One guy grabs your legs, the other grabs your arms, the other two start kicking, punching, and hitting you with bottles and weapons, there is no discipline that can defend against this

    accept that

real life isn't like a Jean Claude Van Damme movie

MMA is combat sport like boxing. If you want to win a street fight you carry mace or a gun.

In saying that, having a martial artist handy is definitely an advantage in your corner

And that is the last word, please try a heelhook or an armbar in a street brawl, you'll probably be stomped out bad

If Jones was a competitive size Robert Guerrero would absolutely school the **** out of him in a boxing match.

Doubt you should go as far as to shoot people dead, but then again, some people will

that's the sad reality of a REAL fight, as much as I respect Mixed Martial Arts

Well an atg by ufc/mma standards which isn't saying much is it.world champ only 3-5 title defenses & he's already atg. It's much harder to become one in boxing. His defenses also aren't that impressive, as they are vs guys past their prime or coming off surgery if not both.I'd like to see him vs Silva/Cain maybe even Jds they'd all likely beat him too. He's good just not buying the hype, tell me when he has 15+ title defenses like Fedor/Silva.
