I'm a chavez fan but sweet pea did indeed school chavez that night. Chavez should have retired after that bout. He was going through all kinds of problems with the Mexican government and rumored to be involved with the sinaloa cartel. Was not training properly and let the fame get to him to much. Don King robbed Whitake of his greatest win.
the first half of that fight was actually very competitive IMO. but boy did Pea take over in the second half. JCC is my favorite fighter of all time, but yeah Pea is one of my all time favorites as well. :deal
He is actually one of my favorite fighters of all time. I'm just not a fan boy. I remember watching that fight with all of my family and some of them being in denail and saying whitaker was running. I watched the fight a few years ago but still with some bias for chavez i guess. But i am sane and grounded enough to say my boy got school. I wanted to be a boxer because of chavez and you assume i'm trying to bash. Kids like you need some help, someone says something about a fighter and they take it personal.
