I think it's a good sign that Rob is a bit clueless about the theatrics of NI. Shows how things have changed.

This is bullying. A guy asks a question of something he does not know the answer to. I admire people who want to learn.

I actually walked past the Manchester bomb at 8.45 that day, that's now 17 years ago. It is a long time ago.

Yeah. It is pretty pathetic really. He only asked who the guys were, if it doesn't affect your life you probably aren't going to know a lot about it unless you look it up or take an interest in it. Some of you lot maybe a lot older than Jonesey.

TBH honest I don't know who Jonny Adair is and I'm 30.

I wouldn't say I'm ignorant or uneducated just growing up never really watched the news all I was interested in was sport/football.

    Someone educate me?

There was a civil war going on in your country and you don't know much about it. I just find it remarkable.

You are a bizarre character, Richard. You have a lot of issues with cliques and bullying, even when there's nothing going on.

I find it more remarkable that you do not get that not everyone is like you and I. Some people grow with an extremely narrow upbringing, they are to aware of the world outside their own estate and can't see past which footballer their favourite club is about to sign.

I have no problem with Jonseys ignorance now he is confronting it nor should you. What would be more worrying would be if Jonsey had read the name Gerry Adams and did not stop to think who is he.

We are all just a product of the environment we were raised in. That's the hand you get dealt with.

    Go Richard!

PS. And now for your theory on Rob's endorsement of Thatcher, given his tender years i.e. in nappies when she was in power.

PPS. Totally random one, maybe it was a troll thread?

I envy people who remained ignorant or never got sucked into talking politics. I've talked 'wars and politics' and had 'opinions' on such things far too much. It's called being an *******. Unless you're a dedicated activist or soldier to the cause, getting into political discussion/argument probably makes me you an armchair *******.

(^ and even this is too opinionated, but I can't help that, I'm not fully reformed yet.)

All of those factors play a part. Regardless of that, there was a civil war going on in the UK for 30-plus years. Many mainstream films, TV shows, etc have depicted the reasons for it and the stories behind it.

This is not something that has drifted away. So I just find it remarkable that anyone around that age (and Rob is only five years younger than me) would be unaware of the reasons for the Troubles.

:lol:Jesus, this still going on? I can see where Rob's coming from. I'm the same age as him and until recently didn't know much about NI. Sure I knew a little bit, but only the basics. Never learned about this stuff in school and was only a kid during the height of the troubles. It was only last year I decided to get up to speed and read a book called "Irish history for dummies". I only read the book 'cause the pub I drink at plays mad rebel songs, and reading the song lyrics on youtube made me want to learn more. I might be the only Asian guy in the world that has the wolftones and all them fools on my ipod.

Note: Before some of you clowns start getting upset like you did at Tyson Fury, it's just music and doesn't say anything about my political views. They should teach this in school though. It's more relevant to us than Henry the ****ing 8th.
