I'm so disappointed that Pascal-Bute fight is postponed ...

It's very rare to get knocked out, perform badly in your tune-up against a C+ fighter and then beat a B/B+ fighter. I think Bute needs another tune-up. But I disagree with you - this hasn't been a set up. It's a bona fide bad injury which means Bute cannot train and compete, so he needed to reschedule. Like most Romanians, you like your conspiracy theories too much and you are much too cynical. Think rationally. By dropping out of the fight, Bute has said good-bye to his biggest ever payday, and he has no guarantee that he will ever get to fight Pascal again. If he wanted to cash out, he'd have gone in with the injury and got himself KOed. But because he wants to compete and win, he needs to be certain he is healthy and fit. So he said good-bye (at least for a while) to the millions, and he's backed himself instead. Respect that!

I also disagree with you about the next opponent, if it isn't Pascal. Dawson, Hopkins and Shumenov could all beat Bute, and then, where would the Pascal fight be...? These guys don't constitute a tune-up and if Bute loses to them, it might be the end of his career - he'd miss out on the biggest fight of all - Pascal. Why take the risk?

Imo, Bute needs a tune-up against a fighter as good as Grachev, not better. Then, the Pascal fight needs to happen, do or die. Then, depending on how well Bute has performed... it's either retirement, another tune-up or straight on to Hopkins, Shumenov, ... or even a Pascal rematch.

I'm not saying Bute fans should pay hundreds of dollars to support Bute in anther tune-up. Stay at home if tickets are more than 30-40 dollars and don't buy the PPV at all. But let Bute get the tune-up he needs and deserves, if you are a fan. Then, yeah, expect Bute to step up again - which I'm sure he will!

But... I think Bute will fight Pascal next after-all. Pascal certainly deserves to have Bute fight him in his very next fight.

 

Memo Heredia seems to think its a faked injury from Bute to avoid the random tests.

If bute was faking an injury, he wouldn't give 15 minutes interviews. He's not an actor and it would be easy to see he's lying.

Bute left 2 millions $ on the table, that's a more solid argument that anything Heredia could say.

It's the biggest fight out there for both Pascal and Bute, I don't get some of the posts in this thread. The people that say he should have fought injured are just haters that wanted to see him get his ass kicked.

if this injury prevents this fight from happening it might be the luckiest injury of Bute's career and might save his career. There's a chance that Bute can beat some decent fighters still like Rodriguez, Bika x 2 after Bika wins his title and a few others but Pascal is one guy that would have always bodied him, same with Froch, Kessler.

 

Bute will fight Pascal next.
