Bit premature for this, Canelo is still a few years off his peak. The best of Oscar at 154 v the best we've seen of Canelo so far, I'd definitely go with Oscar. Canelo still has lots to learn, but the talent is there as well as the fact he has bags of time on his hands.
Oscar fought every one there was to fight except winky wright. Which wasn't a match at the time people realy cared about. The Vargas that fought Oscar that night came out like a machine. His huge fight experience, slick boxing, and chin would put him as a favorite over Canelo.
GTFO here. Go watch oscar vs. chavez 2 if you want to see some amazing combo's during Oscar's prime. Oscar only lost to mosley in their first fight DURING HIS PRIME. Get a fukin brain. Trinidad - everyone knows Tito got schooled 8 out of 12 rounds that fight. Mosley 2nd fight - every poll I've seen in boxing forums have 80 percent of the members seeing Oscar win that fight also, He only outlanded Mosley by 100 punches lol Beat Whitaker, Quartey, Ruelas, Vargas, Mayorga, Hernandez, (Trinidad and Mosley) if judges weren't fuked in the head. Canelo would get fukin murdered and Oscar would bring out the KID in him, schooling him. oscar too fast, too powerful and a gold medal amatuer boxer so you know he can box circles around that kid if he chose to. Oscar had an amateur record of 230 wins approx - with only 5 losses. Not even Floyd was that successful as an amateur. He had less wins with more losses!
Like i said before, being young does not garantee you will improve forever. some fighters peak early. Devon Alexander and Victor ortiz both are young and peaked Btw, this thread is dumb. Whats next? GGG kos hagler?
Am I the only one who is willing to state the obvious . . . if they fought today Canelo would whip Oscar.
