Props to Burns. Why are we discounting him? He was the one who hung in and fought it out. Not his fault Chelo doesnt have his heart. He was gonna be stopped. You can have everything going for you, but with no heart you aren't a champion.
Burns didn't look good in that fight - maybe the long time out made him rusty, maybe he got his gameplan wrong, maybe Gonzalez was better than anyone thought, etc, etc - but the other guy couldn't stand the pace and quit so a wins a wins. I hope that he's better than that performance however because he looked amatuerish and awkward and I wouldn't fancy his chances against top fighters if that's his usual skill level.
I just tuned in on time for Gonzalez retiring on his stool. :huh (although reading through some comments, he ought to have been at least in it on the cards if not comfortably ahead?)
Some serious Brittish dick-riding going on. Burns looked like dog **** for the whole fight, and when he finally did turn it up, it wasn't THAT impressive at all. Gonzalez was clearly hurt. He wasn't gasping for air, and Burns wasn't putting on some kind of defensive master-class. I can't wait for Gonzolez's next fight.
Burns showed heart and was coming on strong. Not his fault the guy is a quitter. Some of you bumsteaks are absolute ****ing disgraces who know **** all about boxing.
