Yeah, he was def paid off to beat the **** out of Rickster for 9 rounds, and then retire while being way up (presumably) on the scorecards.
Or maybe good old Eddie made him an offer he couldn't refuse halfway through the ****ing fight..................
    :-(

****ing twats saying that the fix was in :dead

One of the oddest fights I've ever seen, goes to show HEART is as important as having fundamental skills.

Absolutely. I like Burns as much as the next man, but he looked awful in there and nothing that he tried worked. I only had him winning the 8th and 9th rounds- simply because Gonzalez was throwing very little. Sorry, but you can't give Burns credit by winning simply due to his opponent quitting

ricky found a way so he 100% deserved to win, that was ricky's best performance, he was getting ****ed up but he found a way, well done lad and well done billy for producing that lad in such great shape on the night.

Personally I think Gonzalez is very good I don't know who the other champions are but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be in a rush to fight him now.

I'm not including Broner as he is fighting at 147 next.

No fix, Gonzalez gave the fight away in that 7th round. He could have kept schooling Burns for 5 more rounds. Burns had no answer then suddenly after that round Gonzalez stopped boxing.
Gassed and maybe a hurt hand

Yeah no doubt Burns took more punishment but he clearly is tougher than Gonzalez and has dug deep and shown he has heart in previous fights like against Martinez, Johanneson and Katsidis whereas Gonzalez just doesn't seem to have as much heart and was never the same after the 7th.

To say he should have been stopped is ridiculous he covered up well took most of the punches on his forearms and punched back.

Calm down Luke, just saying heart is a big part of a world champion. Gonzalez just didn't have it tonight
