JMM ruined PAC for the rest of his life. Once rios starts tagging him he'll quit. He don't want to relive that night he woke up in the hospital.
If he got outboxed and could not adjust against a primary brawler in Alvarado, he will get pummeled and beaten down by Pacquiao. There's nothing he can do but show up, come forward, and hope to survive the onslaught of a fighter who made his career out of beating up flat footed, come forward Mexican brawlers who "come to fight".
Exactly. Walk him down. Cut the ring off. Target the chin. Dont forget the body. He has been knocked out by both shots to the body and chin. He doesnt like to get hit. Dont let him rest. Throw lots of punches. Maul the hell out of him in the clinches. Treat him like DOG****.
I actually think his defense has regressed. A few fights back he was blocking shots on the inside with his gloves. To have a chance he will have to go back to doing that and (stay very close) and force Pac to infight with him.
fill my guts with power pellets and lay him out cold then when the fights finished go after freddie and beat him down in the dressing rooms
Cut off the ring but patiently, controlling the center, don't walk into shots. Step into that jab when he's on the move, but don't over-commit or shoot it when he's planted ready to counter. Lean leftward and shoot the right anytime Manny comes in. Shoot the left to the body after Pac throws as he'll automatically move towards his right, and follow up. Throw hard shots anytime Pac starts to throw more than one punch, timing shots between his up top. Stay low and try to imitate that JMM overhand right when available.
Jab you're way in...and make it an inside fight...Pac needs space he has no inside game...tenderize his liver & kidneys then start throwing the uppercut....
there's no hope for rios. garcia better throw in the damn towel soon after he starts getting busted up. i aint tryin to watch pacquiao margarito II. that was a horrific beating.
I like these threads: it tells you who are the natural-born winners and the natural-born losers on the forum. Winners look for the opportunities in every fight; losers just give up. Rios's best plan is to get close, work the body early, and look for a KO. He's not going to outbox Pac, obviously, so he needs to work out a pathway to the KO. Uppercuts are definitely something to work on. Also, he generally needs to make it rough and show a lack of respect WITHOUT doing anything silly. So he should lower his hands and taunt- but only when well out of range. He should talk to Pac- but only in clinches. He should raise his arms up at the end of any round in which he does well- (and make sure that Manny sees him. In short, he has to get into Pac's head and more importantly build up his own self-belief. Will he win? Probably not, but anyone at that level has some positive percentage chance against anyone.
