RJJ will go down in history as better than Floyd

Roy is greater now, and greater head 2 head, as well as better P4P in their prime. BUT, Floyd can surpass Roy depending on what route he takes with these next 5 fights. If he decides to coast and take 5 easy fights, then I would not rank him above Roy.

Hopkins, Toney, McCallum, Hill, Tarver, Gonzalez, Ruiz, R. Johnson, Griffin, Woods.

Hernandez, Marquez, Castillo, Corrales, De La Hoya, Mosley, Hatton, Cotto, Guerrero, Gatti.

Other good wins:

Roy: Malinga, Del Valle, Harding, M. Sosa, Vaca, Pazienza, Castro, Lucas, Thornton, Grant.

Floyd: Chavez, C. Hernandez, Judah, Baldomir, Ortiz, Corley, Manfredy, V. Sosa, Vargas, Gerena, Augustus, Pep, Jukko.

 

Why is everything all about Floyd, damn is he the only man in the world that box, people try to discredit this man every chance they get...yes Roy Jones was a great flashy fighter, but his best wins are Hopkins & Toney, his resume is not better than Floyd's, Roy was younger than Floyd is now when he first got his as knocked out and he's been getting ko'd ever since...

The man has 8 losses and has been ko'd like 4 times, he chose to fight on and as a result tainted his legacy, if he had longevity, defense, a sturdy chin and a high enough boxing iq, he could have continued to win, being knocked out by the likes of a B level Tarver, C level Johnson and some unknown Russian & Australian guy is unacceptable no matter what his age, you don't see b-hop getting put to sleep in his senior years...

These fools living in the past and are bitter because Floyd is making lots of money, this golden era bull****, is overrated especially Duran he's the main one who would have been easy work for a prime Floyd...

 

6 in one hand, half a dozen in the other...both awesome talents and being behind either really isn't a bad thing. It's all preference, can't go wrong either way.

 

Ruiz, Johnson, Griffin and Woods are all bull**** fighters lets be honest here, it doesn't matter what 5 fights Floyd takes to end his career, if he retires undefeated at 38-39 then he's definitely above Jones, letssee beating average or just good fighters to end your career or ggetting ko'd by average or below average fighters to end you career, its a no brainer...

They both have subpar talent on thier resumes but Floyd has the more recognizable wins and more popular names on his resume that are wins, Floyd has more future hofers on his resume than Roy that he actually won against, won titles at more weights and thus far has never loss let alone been knock out...

Floyd is better overall no question...

Both are special and you can't go wrong with either choice. But I'm going with Floyd. Better defense. Has ability to think and adjust during a fight. Good chin. Is able to fight at a high level for a longer period than Roy. Marketable. Just a complete fighter.

 

I'm going RJJ. He could do everything Floyd could and had serious one punch power in the lower weight classes. He had some of the best one punch body shots I've ever seen

 

Is anyone disputing this? You are stick-manning. This is so far universally accepted and it's a bit of a waste of a thread.

 

Both will go down as elite talent who failed at ATGness for the simple reason that they were afraid to step up and take a real challenge when it was right under their noses.

 

Roy was unreal. Raw talent. In fact, Jones was one the main boxer (aside from Pea) that made me watch boxing..
But I'll accept Floyd as the better fighter/boxer here. Defense/adjustment/RingGeneralship ETC.

And why don't anyone gauge Losses on their records? Having 8 will definitely hurt your status
