I can absolutely see how Khan can rub some fans the wrong way. However, this is an individual sport where your ego and confidence must be very high to succeed. These "excuses" that he makes I think in his own mind, are like protective mechanisms to keep his confidence up. In boxing, many of the fighters talk themselves up to be great. Mayweather claims he's the best fighter and nobody can beat him. Hopkins, who happens to be one of my favorite fighters, literally goes on a diatribe about his greatness in every interview he does now. I think deep down Khan's not a bad guy, but his interviews do at times come across as arrogant.

Both have been coddled and I get sick of the idiots on here that say Khan was a legit World Champion. Look who he won his belts from. They cherrypicked the feather fisted Kotelnik and then fought shot Judah who still hasn't won a meaningful fight in almost 8 years. That isn't impressive. Especially when you factor in Khan's knockout losses.

    Berto would KO Khan.

He still defeated Maidana. And although Peterson took the belts away from Khan....there's no arguing it was a highly competitive fight. He's a legit title contender in my opinion, albeit with a very shaky defense.

Khan is more achieved with a better boxing pedigree

Berto thinks he can use the shoulder roll overnight

For starters Khan has a massive promotional force behind him starting from the olympics. Despite a couple losses he has a pretty good resume for a young champion including former unified welterweight champion.

Even though he lost to Garcia and Peterson he's still a dangerous fighter, whether guys here like to admit it theres obvious unfinished business totake care of, he's coming back to try avenge those two losses which he has a good chance of doing. One other thing, he's exciting to watch.

Berto isn't anticipated now any more because of the two losses. he doesn't have the resume to back himself up. No real background or sizable fanbase. He's dangerous but going to keep slugging it out as a fringe contender until he gets another shot. He can box but he's not the most exciting fighter.
