I think the 5lbs will benefit murray more, all it means for Chavez is he doesn't have to drain as far, he'll probably be the same size and weight he always is on fight night. Murray will be massive at 165 and I think he'll match Chavez for strength and might end up pushing Chavez around a bit

You have got to respect Murray. The guy is a warrior and a credit to the sport.

True as Murray has fought 18 of his 27 fights at SuperMiddle weight.

Having said that it won't matter if the fight was fought at 160lbs and in Murrays back garden he's gonna get annihilated by Chavez Jr who is the worst style match-up possible out of all the Top 10 middleweights in the world for Murray.

Ricky needs to sit his fighter down and tell him this is a bad idea , everything is against him. Chavez 165 and in Mexico, it's madness. I admire murrays balls but he isn't being given a chance in these fights in getting a decision

Gentlemen can some of you explain why you think Murray will be "annihilated, battered, dominated" just a few choice words I've seen ???

Is it because Chavez Jr broke Andy Lee in half ???

Chavez Jr is a face first, limited plodder, with very little boxing skill, Murray will pick him coming in with ease, and Murray is an excellent straight puncher.

Even inside Chavez doesn't work very well, its not like once he's he gets in he goes to work, changing levels, ripping uppercuts, low centre of gravity, angles, moving off the line and throwing to the body! All the attributes of a good inside fighter; Chavez doesn't possess :deal he has a short sharp left hook but he loads up with it. And thats about it.

Chavez is like this mythical beast that doesn't actually exist he's ****ing garbage :deal Murray will hammer him IMO.

The fight being in Mexico and Chavez pumped full of gear wont help matters I agree, but I cant see Murray losing to Chavez, he's not that good and Murray has the tools to take him apart, my opinion.

Well styles make fights and Chavez jr is all wrong for Murray. Unlike someone like Martinez who is a mover and never allows you to set your feet and throw your power punches, Murray is a much more stationary target which would allow Chavez jr to get his body punches off and do damage.

I would give Murray a good chance of beating or being competitive against the following 160 fighters: Geale, Martinez, Quillin, Sturm, Macklin, Barker, Rubio, Soliman, Andy Lee, N'jikam and Vera.

The two bad style match-ups for him at 160 are: Chavez jr and GGG.

Those are my sentiments, I don't think he'll KO Chavez though I could be wrong and no way he gets a decision in Mexico so he'd be up against it plus theres no title on the line as far as I'm aware.

Maybe the money is too good to ignore and fair play to Murray for taking a tough assignment away from home again. The Sergio fight seemed to win him a lot of fans and the sturm fight to some extent. Maybe he is confident he can win or is just happy to get a pay day and fight the best. It's refreshing at least to see someone just fight the top opponents consistently. Chavez isn't all that and perhaps murray will be punching harder at 165 and is full of confidence after almost beating Sergio who punished Chavez save the 12th round.

GGG isn't a bad style match up. He's a bad talent match up. For everyone in the division.

As for Chavez jr, he's getting under and over rated here. He's a bit face first and Murray will pick him off and I imagine show a tight defence, but as Murray's not a mover Jr will have less problem getting set for his power punches than he did against the Sexy One. I imagine down the stretch it could get interesting and if it was in a neutral or British venue Murray would win a tough ud. In Mexico you'd have to favour Chavez. Cracking fight though!

Chavez is a plodder with no defence, just a granite chin and good power, no talent at all. Murrays footwork is better than chavez`s he can go in and out of ramge, and he has the better defence and will catch chavez up the middle.

So of the 2 Chavez is the more stationary, my only concern for Murray is stamina

So because Murray is rooted, Chavez will attack his body? :huh Thats it? Thats the analysis..................

Nope, not for me, Chavez will be hammered at length, and listen, Murray wont pop Chavez like Martinez did, he'll bang him hard with a consistent right hand off a consistent jab or double jab.

Chavez had his moment in the spotlight against a small MW and couldn't take it, now he's faced with a better athlete suited to fighting big MW's, who is a better all round fighter and is a disciplined straight puncher with a tight defence.

Styles do make fights, but so does ability, Murrays beating Chavez hands down for me.

Chavez was on the bones of his ass getting shut of Andy Lee, he was gassed, and he did nothing! watch the fight again Chavez was done, ok yes Lee was being hammered hard but it was asking everything of Chavez to get the job done, and it was only round 7.

If anything the question in mark is on Chavez in this area not Murray, Murray is a seasoned athlete, one of the best athletes at 160 in the world.

Chavez threw one punch every 15 seconds against Martinez, the lads got no engine. The lifestyle and weight is killing him. No matter how much HGH or EPI he uses, its not gonna help him, Murrays the better athlete.
