Having an 'alphabet strap' doesn't mean your a world champ, no. But it is still a big achievement, how many British fighters would do anything to get one? How many British fighters have had one in the past ten years? It's still quite a small club and for that reason he deserves the upmost respect.

Shut up Roe the Ibf are a well regarded governing body and they're titles are well respected and regarded as world honors in the sport of boxing.

    Talking absolute shite

The Calendar piece on him was good (yesterday?), seems like a decent kid. They interviewed Kell Brook who looked a bit chunky.

This is a man who won a world title at the weekend, Kell Brook aint even done that yet, yet look at the difference in exposure. Kell Brook got more exposure for being injured and pulling out of a fight with Devon Alexander, than Jamie McDonnell got for winning a WORLD TITLE! Talk about under the radar. Talk about just complete and utter bull****.

Says it all really. Says it all.

Wasn't knocking Cleverly at all.Just saying that McDonnell beat a far better, younger boxer to get his title.I think Cleverly himself would tackle anybody, but I think I heard his manager hint that they were gonna duck the German after Nathans last defence, and IMO its a good fight that should happen.By the way, liked Craneys last post.

BoxNation showed some of this last night on Bunce's show..

Great performance. Should never have gone up against Sky's debut of Burns though.

Fair play to him, not like we've had many Bantamweight champs

McKenzie and Regan in the WBO's early days and then Joe Bowker in 1904 were the only others I could find!

It's not bizarre. A lot of people won't even have seen it yet, it was on PPV on a tinpot channel when a fairly large fight was happening on Sky.

Managed to watch both fights.A bit of guidance from the guy that posts on this site. Thanks again. As it happened, the timing couldn't have been better,Jamie being announced the winner as Ricky and Gonzalez doing ring walks.
