That is a matter of opinion, I believe Canelo is the future face of the sport, he will be the next big thing already is at 22 years of age.

I also believe that with each passing fight he just gets better he improves....

I do believe if we saw the same old canelo we have seen in the past, in his fight with Trout Floyd would likely sign the deal to fight him right away.
But he showed us a few dynamics a few tricks that he had, not your traditional come forward stalker he can switch gears and make you come to him make you miss and make you pay.

That is the part I think Floyd is 2nd guessing here, Canelo has enough to get ahead early and if he adjust mid fight it makes Floyd have to work harder than he likes to and take more risk another thing Floyd doesnt like.

Floyd dont want this fight because Floyd sees himself having allot of problems in this fight and has to go through a little more than he would like to in order to pull off the win.

Does anyone think the fight not happening also does Canelo some favors?

In his next 2 fights he can make money from collecting scalps of Cotto and 154 and Martinez and if Chavez Jr can still make 160- thus in all likeness still undefeated. Getting schooled by Mayweather at this stage (and we all know there is a decent chance that would happen), might be bad for him in the long run.

you are entirely clueless if you think that canelo will fight chavez at 160.

    chavez would beat the ass.

    bad.

saul does not have the power or strength to keep jr off of him and chavez would throw the 5'7" canelo around like a little boy.

trout was bullying him on the ropes before and after the knockdown.

Wrong! Oscar never weighed 170+ on fight night while fighting at 154:deal. Canelo is a bigger man than Oscar not even worth debating. Canelo isn't a small 154 pound fighter so stop it. Trout is a tall 154 pound fighter. Canelo is thicker and no way you can classify Canelo as an undersized 154 pound guy. BTW I would love nothing more than for PBF to fight Canelo at 154 tool him so I can come here and laugh at you haters just like I do after every PBF fight.:hi:

It's not really that relevant. He was also way bigger than Martinez but Martinez won every round but 1. The reason- talent. Alvarez also has much more talent than Chavez Jr.

Future? As soon as he moves up in weight he will get tooled. If he some how fights Ward at 168 in the future he wouldn't win a round. Hell Quillen at 160 and GGG would give him the business and possibly Lara at 154. The guy is far too limited to be considered the future.

I agree. In a pot shot battle, I will put my money on Mayweather. After getting hit, Canelo will have to come forward and work. Mayweather will then feast on the counters. Canelo has a notoriously bad gas tank and takes huge gaps off. This will not work against Mayweather where Alvarez is the B side. I see Canelo dropping a LOT of rounds late. Hell I think Canelo would have dropped a ton of rounds if Trout's timing was worth a damn and/or he brought a committed cross behind that jab.

I think Alvarez does can one-punch Mayweather and get a KD as I don't think Mayweather's chin is the best. He will have to do more though which I don't see him as being able to do.

I think this is a matter of putting Alvarez into position and structuring his contract with Showtime. No more. No less. I see Alvarez as being FMJ's last or second to last with rematch clause fight with SHO. It makes no sense to do it now when the winner of Peterson/Matthyse is still up in the air. A Matthyse fight would be decent if LM does well.

Alvarez should just leave GBP and sign with TR its obvious Floyd dont have the balls to face him at 154, Oscar is clearly not looking out for Canelo time to move on

This fight will happen at 154. PBf is just posturing to make sure he has the upper hand during negotiations.

  15. Another made up quote. As ever it was never said, by anyone with any say on the situation, or probably anybody at all for that matter.
