Yeah, "boxing lesson"...right. But it was a solid win. Not an all time great win or a memorable performance or particularly meaningful, but yeah, a solid win.
That means you're wasting my time with stupidity you cant even believe yourself, like one of the worst paper champs in boxing being ducked by a legend. This is the guy whose only top 10 win is still this same Karo Murat, almost 3 years ago. Cleverly is not ready for the guy Hopkins just took to school. Plus you're pushing a guy promoted by FW. When does FW ever make risky fights, or even make sincere offers these days?
Hmmmmm on one hand you seem to think Hopkins is pretty great but winning against Hopkins is not so great? Confusing. I think it was pretty memorable. Two hall of famers fighting and one stayed unbeaten. Hopkins said there was no way a white man could ever win him, but then Calzaghe won, must have been pretty humbling. You are right most Hopkins fights are pretty not very meaningful or memorable but this one was because he fought someone who is an effective boxer that throws a lot of punches, not a good thing for Hopkins.
AND THERE WE ****ING HAVE IT. THE REAL REASON you hate Hopkins. The question is why not just come out and say it? It's an internet forum. If you don't have the courage to even say stuff on an internet forum.. how you gonna handle real life? Just say 'I think Hopkins is a boring ****.. but more importantly the REAL reason I hate Hopkins is because he made racist comments that grind my nerves.. so I'll never forgive this ****. He's boring and he's racist. A double negative... and no it DOES NOT BECOME A POSITIVE.......... See.. why not just say that? patsch
My bad, I tried to put him in a fight someone might care about, well if he is not going to fight the type of fighters that are a threat to him so we can have an exciting fight, he might as well fight on espn. Oh he is, that makes sense.
I'm not sure if this is all getting lost in translation or what, but I definitely never declared my love for Hopkins in any way shape or form. Quite the contrary, I find him boring and his persona is ****. In your head, clouded by rage, you probably couldn't see that I was commentating on the topic of his fight being on ESPN from an objective perspective. As far as the fight with Calzaghe...no, it was pretty much **** all around. A 'solid' win by Calzaghe over an old, albeit crafty, pugilist...while getting knocked down by a guy not exactly known for knocking guys down. You won't find many threads waxing nostalgic when it comes this bout. It's just reality.
So Hopkins shouldn't be afforded a soft touch every now and then even closing in on 50? He said he wants Froch or Bute next, do you think that's likely to land on ESPN? kind of nice seeing a fighter, a champion not try and hype an easy fight into something its not (see Wlad-Pianeta) and trying to steal the public's money.
I rather have my opinion if you don't mind, thank you for the suggestion on what I should say and how I should word it. I have already said he was boring as ****, and i wouldn't say making racist comments makes it that I wouldn't watch a fighter anymore, I don't think I really care, it might play a factor it how big a fan I am, but not if I would watch, maybe even tune in to watch the fighter lose. I know you think you are like Sherlock Holmesand you have uncovered something here, but I had already made my points pretty clear over numerous posts. Hopkins is boring, and did things in his career to put himself in this position where he has to fight on espn, and he doesnt have much of an audience, and I gave insight to why that is.
My proof, he is fighting on espn in a title fight because showtime does not want it. You supporting him does not seem to be cutting it.
Your right, Hopkins cares about us, he has not been demoted to espn, showtime probably wanted it, but he said no guys I have to do the right thing here for my fans, hahaha, dumbass
And as I said boxers such as Hopkins deserve an easy defense every once in awhile and its nice to see the public isnt getting ripped off. When was the last time Nard wasn't on HBO, Showtime or PPV? It being SO long ago just proves he is in the boxing public's eye and people are interested.
