No way would David have fought on Sky Sports 1 and not prime-time or box office, Sounds like a cheap way to get some publicity and media spot light.

I think it was going to happen but who knows, he may be fighting Vitali soon. I don't think TV is too much of an issue for Haye in the short term.

na i don't think so haye is after box office and knows a few fights on ordinary sky could get him there.

He's even less likely to get box office again now after this.

The Sky chiefs and Eddie will not be happy about this.

You're kidding yourself if you think his first fight for a title isn't on box office. A popular British heavyweight fighting for a title Sky and Eddie would be disabled not to cash in on that.

ESB really is a nirvana for conspiracy theorists

Who says hes getting a title shot anytime soon?

Hes not in a mandatory position and he now is injured and has no fight scheduled.

Vitali has Stiverne now , and is past his sell by date and with his election looming will retire probably soon enough.

The division is about 4 people deep he'll be there in a fight or two.

I dont see him fighting Wlad or Vitali in the next 12 months.

Depends when Vitali retires really, and if David doesnt "retire" himself.

Haye needs a fight on Sky Sports 1 because his credibility as a fighter is so low after the shambles with Wlad. Yeah, he beat Chisora after that but it was on an obscure channel most casual fans have never heard of, so if Haye is going to become a PPV attraction in the future, he needs a fight to prove himself on SS1. If he went straight to Sky Box Office in his next fight, it'd do terrible numbers unless it was against Vitali or Fury. Any realistic Haye fight must take place on Sky Sports though.

I love all the conspirancy theories that come out when a fighter gets injured

    I agree with this.

Even with SKY going back to PPV they are not going to put any Tom, Dick or Harry on PPV just for the sake of It.

It certainly would have been his lowest payday for a long time and Haye is more a businessman now then boxer. Maybe the risk reward fighting someone like Charr was too much?

This figures are not accurate but i would say he made around:

    £5 million against Nicolay Valuev
    £3.5 million against John Ruiz
    £5 million against Audley Harrison
    £10 million against Wladimir Klitschko
    £3 million against Chisora

For his fight against Charr on SS1 i doubt he would have cleared £1 million, maybe the ticket sales weren't as good as they were expecting either? I do think he was going to fight and it probably is a hand jury.

No way he made that much against Harrison.
