Still even getting to the World Championship Final in your 2nd international tournament is quite an achievement.

Problem with Joshua is that there will be a clamour for him to be rushed, and he doesn't need to be. He is still only 23 which is so young for a Heavyweight.

He should do 1 year of 10 6x3's and then a year of 8 8x3's against a decent level of opponent. He should be fighting someone like Michael Sprott over 6 rounds in his 3rd or 4th fight.

Problem is the boxing fans and public wont allow that to happen.

Anthony Joshua turning pro would be fantastic for British boxing but he should be moved very slowly. He'll only be 24 years old in october so has plenty of time to develop his skills for the the pro ranks even though his style and physique seem to already be there.

I just hope boxings fans and the public allow him the time and space to develop, if his management is smart they won't demand he takes centre stage on cards from the start of his career but rather slowly build up his wins on undercards untill he gets to British title level.

I've just watched the final again and honestly I have Joshua losing by about 10 points. How can anyone say he won that I don't know.

Yeah of course it is but he didn't really show any improvement in the Olympics tbh. I mean people were going on as though he was going to be some sort of monstor in the Olympics but he just wasn't. He didn't look any better than in the worlds really.

Are you nuts? he won't be ready for that and Michael Sprott is a 10-12 round fighter.

  10. Final ? He should have been out after his first fight

The guy is an elite world class amateur. Over 6 rounds he should be beating someone like Michael Sprott with ease.

I'm on about the world championships mate. Everybody who didn't see the fight said he was robbed because it took place in the other guy's home country and he only lost by a point.

I agree with what you're saying though he lost in the Olympics easily against Savon. I'll admit he has some ability like but I doubt he'll do as much as people are making out. He could win a belt though.
