Am i right saying he was the underdog when he won all his titles???? Napa - British and Commonwealth French guy in France - European Ceja - IBF World If it is then McDonnell deserves even more respect. I thought he boxed very well, in-fact a world class performance of boxing and moving with McDonnell mixing it up when he needed to.
He beat Napa? I aint to sure about that. However, going to france and winning was the real kick his career needed.
I thought Napa won that fight pretty comfortably as well, but all credit to McDonnell because he's come on leaps and bounds since then.
The same judge scoring the fight wide for McDonnell in both the Napa and Ceja fights. Dave Parris atsch
118-110. atsch I thought Mcdonnell took the fight a round or maybe a draw against Ceja in a very good performance but the Dave Parris card was woefull. How on earth is it possible to come with such a bad card? Or is he just as bent as they come?
Considering I still haven't seen his weekends performance his fights with jamoye and Stuart hall are my favourites Am I right that if a rematch with Stuart hall took place then the IBf world,European, commonwealth and British would all be on the line
Although I agree he lost to Napa, he has since then played a blinder and has ducked no-one taking on very good opposition.
I don't think the British and world can be fought for in the same fight I might be completely mistaken but that thought is in my mind for some reason
No, I don't think so because you have to vacate a Euro title if you fight for world honours, so Jamie must have vacated that by now. I think that British and Commonwealth are not contested for in a world title fight, like Cleverly-Bellew, though Bellew continued on as British champ
Yeh I also thought Napa won that fight. McDonnell ended up getting the European title fight in France which Napa's team had agreed to, and the rest is history.
