Hardcore fans get fights like Choi-simpson,Crolla-Matthews and Frampton-Martinez but there needs to be more of them. It`s a fine balanceing act for him because he has to chase ratings to keep his Sky deal. It`s a shame for him that the Haye fight isn`t happening(hardcore fans know it`s a **** fight) because it would guantee great ratings.I`m sure on a IFilm interview he said 4 prizefighters a year would be what he will be looking for in the future which isn`t so bad if he got more proper dates as well. Also there a few hardcore fans who if the line up is decent think it`s a bit of fun,I have been to one and the atmoshere was good.

So boxing could survive without fans that read and follow it every day?

    The statement,

"caters for **** head football/casual fans instead of the hardcore element"

    doesn't translate into,

"If they only catered for the hardcore element boxing would have died a death a long time ago Bill."

Both parties can be catered for on a boxing card, especially a ppv one

No I wouldn't because it's still wasn't PPV worthy in the first place, you don't buy a PPV hoping to be surprised that its good do you.

Of course not, but it's the wider general public that put the vast, vast majority of the money in the pockets of the top fighters.

Why do you think BoxNation is struggling so much?

Clearly our understanding of the word 'instead' is very different.

I do agree of course new fans need to be brought into the sport but not at the expense of the people that watch it all the time, what brings new fans into the sport are good fights and value for money, Froch/Kessler is a good fight but that on its own is not value for money, especially when there's so little boxing on sky.

Sorry, but you have a very idealistic few on life and sport it would seem. Nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't fit in with the current status quo.

Look at football, at all levels the 'average' man who loves his team is being priced out and left to stand and watch as his club prices him out and looks to bring in the corporates.

I find it disgusting, but sport is as much a business as anything else nowadays.

That's a fair point, I understand what you are saying but I don't want to just roll over and go along with whatever bull**** occurs when I don't agree with it, I am well aware that nobody is going to listen to a 28 year old glorified plumber with a bit of a beer belly but for my own sanity I won't go along with these corporate needs.

Long term these sports, and boxing will see an affect.

Hearn is doing exactly what he has been critical of Frank for doing. Boxing is in the **** state its in in this country because of fans getting ripped off. Hearn is ripping the fans off with this PPV.
