People are forgetting this is only a ten rounder. Imo this is the best ten round comeback fight for him. Still imo a entertaining fight along with a oppurtunity to silence the 'life and death' critics. (Bearing in mind he had a broken nose), he can silence them by just knocking this guy out. Brook Inside the distance.
jones is beatable and must be cheap thats why they keep getting him over here. seems a fairless pointless fight career wise for brook and entertainment and interest wise for the fan. a lot like the bellew rematch which nobody wants to see again from an entertainment point of view. hearn seems a little bit indulgent with his favourites
Well if its Diaz then that is not acceptable. Senchenko is not acceptable either. We are sick to the back teeth of waiting for Kell Brook to fight someone who is world level 'today'. Sadly i can quite easily believe that he's gunna fight a few 'Diaz' level 'used to be world level ish' has beens for the next year or so. :-(
And you do, right? The guy who hammered Hatton would be the fight to make if you want to get the casuals involved. They could build the whole 'revenge for Ricky' angle. He's probably too risky, though.
Exactly the guy who despite his best efforts couldn't even beat Khan at a weight Khan is very vulnerable at or the guy who retired Ricky Hatton for good and is very beatable and an ex world champion. It's such an easy fight to promote.
This is about the best you can hope for given the time that Brook has been out of the ring. It's not what we wanted - Alexander was - but it'll be a good test and it should prove whether the changes Brook has made are beneficial or not. I have no complaints about this. If Brook hadn't been training for such a long time without a fight, it'd be poor, but given the circumstances, it's the best we could hope for.
Senchenko just about, because of him stopping Hatton. But can't agree on Diaz.People were saying he was past it and a poor opponent for Khan before the fight. Then he proved them wrong by putting in a good performance.Do people want to see it just to compare the two performances?Yes.Shows a lack of imagination to me.
I don't mind this Jones fight too much (though the 9 months shouldn't really be an issue as he has been in camp for so long), but Diaz in the autumn would be a really **** fight which I hope doesn't get made.
Yep can go along with thisWill get a bit worried if young Byrne is seen walking round the marina a week before though!Seriously, people were saying the cancellation of Alexander was maybe a blessing in disguise and bought Kell a bit of time and a few fights against better opposition.Said it before Khan fought Diaz and say it now,I reckon Diaz/Jones would be a 50 50 fight now so that IMO is not a step up.If Hearn landed him a shot early in 2014 he would be in exactly the same position, having beaten somebody he'd already beaten and another who Amir beat.
I normally defend brooks choice of opponents as they were all understandable I believe that the Alexander problems were all genuine otherwise they wouldn't of wasted so much time But this fight is not needed,a different variety of opponent is what Kell needs and I loved the first fight.but Kell dominated him for the first 6 rounds and he needs another challenge as we know why he crashed against jones
Exactly, decent fighter but I see it as a workout fight, a different opponent new challenge is what's needed for Brook and fans.
fair enough if Brook faces Carson Jones due to his inactivity. BUt fighting Diaz after that is a joke,. Hearn's is a hypocrite for criticising Khan fighting a blown up lightweight and now he is trying to justify a fight with Diaz
