Canelo should fight martinez. If canelo beats martinez then its a huge win and will cement him in p4p rankings.

He does not need floyd at this point as he is only 22. I think floyd and showtime need canelo more.

**** a cotto fight he should fight martinez. i think he can beat martinez.

What's wrong with wanting Floyd at 22? He needs to build his legacy by fighting top fighters and Floyd is one of them.

And in due time he will fight Martinez.

He can fight Floyd right now, but if floyds demands are that they fight at 147 then he should just simply move on. Showtime and floyd really do need him more right now.

Alvarez is 22 so he has a lot of time to build himself up. Just think of this, how many prize fights was mayweather a part of at the age of 22??? His highest ppv pre-delahoya were 375k. He should not budge to floyds demands.

If he beats martinez then he becomes a huge start.

    Canelo destroys Martinez.

Martinez is shot. His movement is zapped because of his surgery.

Because he doesn't need him. He's not in the legacy business.

It will just be another old man that Canelo has been spoon fed.

Martinez will lose his next fight.

No I don't think so for a few reasons:
1- Canelo is still growing so depending where a Martinez fight took place if he had to move up in weight at all, it maybe tougher for him to get a Mayweather fight
2 - There are good opponents in his division eg Lara and he hasn't been at 154 for that long
3 - Martinez is apparently not going to fight untill next year Canelo can't be waiting for Martinez
4 - He will get just as little credit for beatng Martinez as he would for beating Cotto who is lower risk
5 - If he beats Cotto more impressively than Mayweather, it will further cement him as a ppv star and make the calls for him to face Mayweather even louder
6 - Mayweather should face Canelo next, as Canelo is going to carry on getting bigger, stronger, better and more experienced as time goes by, while Mayweather can only get older and start going downhill. Canelo at this point in his career would be easier for Mayweather than Canelo in even 12 months time
7 - Out of all the possible opponents Canelo has the biggest name, so will generate the most ppv and gate revenue, why not let the other possibles build up their name a bit more before facing them. Mayweather gets the $32m guaranteed but gets the revenue on top as well

Martinez Would still ko alvarez . He didn't look good in his last fight against murray but alvarez doesn't fight behind a highguard all fight and wont be much bigger than sergio like murray was. Trout was able to outbox and land some good punches in spells in the alvarez fight sergio is a better boxer and harder puncher than trout he would do damage to alvarez but it all depends on how sergio recovers from his injuries at his age

You might be right, might be wrong. This fight is a toss up.

this would be the best fight for canelo right now. sergio is ripe for the picking and a layoff due to injury is not going to make him any better. after sergios next fight, his stock is going to drop dramatically when everyone realizes that his unimpressive last performance was no fluke, he is done. to be the one to dethrone the best middleweight of canelos career so far, would be a bright feather in his cap. floyd has a couple more years left and he isnt geting any better so he can wait till floyd grows a pair or retires with the duck label next to his name.
