who's the best boxing analyst?

for me was Manny Steward.

 

Not Lampley. He ****ing sucks.

 

Foreman was awful

 

Love when he would say something like:

"He's one of the fastest fighters I've ever saw".

:yep

 

He def has grown to be very annoying, like a pimple on your ass.

 

He was pretty funny after Bowe Golota erurpted in a riot at MSG!:!:

 

Quick mark out for Alex Wallau, who did commentary for ABC's Wide World of Sports through the 80's and 90's and clearly knew his stuff. Plus he referred to Rosi-Van Horn II as being a lousy fight (and it was), so he gets props for being honest.

I like Paulie quite a bit as an analyst, and enjoy Jim Watt's commentary more than most on this site, I think.

 

I like Paulie and Atlas. Atlas brings a lot of energy when he wants, and I like his "fight plan" scenarios. Paulie is just good at running his mouth, full of energy this cat. Paulie is definitely p4p in commentators. Guy always has something to say.

 

I like Paulie and Roy. Their comments are really illuminating. I miss Manny Steward's observations, especially about the fighters' eyes. I also miss Larry and his poems. And George, just to have around. He was more like a guy you'd love to sit next to at a fight than an actual analyst.

I try my best to block out Bernstein, Atlas and Kellerman. Bernstein gives me nothing. Teddy has his regular insights, but after about the second round it quickly becomes all about Teddy. Like he thinks we actually tune in to hear about him and not the fight. But Kellerman is the worst. Like the Rainman, but without the savant part.
