May have missed if someone already posted on this topic. Considering all the talk of him possibly slowing down and his legs not being there as in past fights, I saw no issue with his legs and movement and speed. Was is that his opponent was so slow, that you didnt notice? Or that he indeed has the same foot speed and movement as before, he just didnt use it as much or was able to in Cotto fight?

He moved around well. Not so fluid as was bouncing around, but still done a good job.

I think his dad made the difference and changed the way he trained some. I forgot the interview, but one guy at the gym said he got Floyd to do some drills that he hadn't done since he was younger.

Also it looked like Floyd was punching with more intensity in this camp and it translated better in the fight.

Floyd looked very immobile boxing wise during his outing with Guerrero. I can't say because he's aging and losing his rhythm, but most likely because of inactivity.
I noticed he second guessed himself a few times, some sloppiness, fatigue and he seemed not to be enjoying himself overall in the ring.
He needs to stay active and, at his age, training quality needs focus.

Honestly, after watching that fight, I'm still convinced his legs have gone a little although not much. Floyd now RUNS a bit more when trying to reestablish his position, it was different before, he'd be able to do so without this.

Yup.. he created space and distance in a different manner that's not so much centrically boxing as it was simply moving away or "running". That's the biggest hint that he was simply out of touch and inactivity taking a toll.
Guerrero might have caused some of it, but ..

He can skip away and around defensively just fine, but he doesn't really punch on the move anymore. Although generally he hasn't as much since moving up to 147. He's been more or less the same fighter since then IMO, planting himself to throw, escaping through a side angle to escape, consciously walking down fighters with great speed, getting backed up when rushed and/or jabbed, standing his ground when necessary.

On may 5 his legs were probably sore. But on May 4 his legs looked good not as great as some said but he didn't use his legs as much as he used to but he's 36 so it's to be expected. He moves when he has to but he doesn't move as much as he once did if he tried he would probably be gassed after 7 or 8 rounds. But he is such a smart fighter he knows how to limit damage taken with minimal movement.

^^ he's no Pretty Boy that's for sure.
The mayweather who fought Ortiz and the one who fought Guerrero were operating @ diff. levels of focus and most likely conditioning

I thinked his legs are still there just maybe a little slower. He got his dad to train him because he took a lot of punishment for the cotto fight. He said him self last fight with cotto was hard as **** and made him think about retirement ( he was not serious at all I'm just pointing out how difficult the fight felt). He was more defensively rounds in last fight, sure he took some shots for maybe the first 3 sounds but after that that he took over and proved he still has it. Floyd relies on reflex and he still has it, the way he slips and counters is impressive. Love seeing him fight truly a work of boxing art, hope we get to see him against canelo just so we can see how versatile he can be.
