    pit,

How is it bull****? He's young, and he's getting naturally bigger all the time. You can manage your rehydration weight to a certain degree, but you can't be confined to a set rehydration weight.

We know what he weighed for Lopez, and we know what he weighed for Trout. But did he purposely weigh more for Trout, or was it natural? We don't know.

Nobody will ever sanction a bout with a rehydration clause. This is where a catchweight comes in to play. If you had a rehydration clause, when would the rehydration weigh in be? What if a fighter rehydrated using the same methods as always, yet came in way over the scheduled rehydration clause? Then what? It could never happen. It would be far too dangerous.

That doesn't apply to all fighters. It's a lot safer to have the weigh in the day before, and all the fighters know the risks involved. Floyd knows that just about whoever he fights at 154, is going to hold a weight advantage over him on a fight night. But that's up to him. He made the decision to go up to 154, and he's got a belt there. If these fighters are too big, then he shouldn't be fighting there.

Some fighters might be, but it depends on what the circumstances are. Coming in at 20 pounds or over, might also put them at disadvantage.

    What's the alternative?

A same day weigh in is dangerous, and a rehydration clause is even more dangerous.

Again, we don't know if Canelo purposely tried to come in that big.

Ward doesn't get much credit, because John Scully's told us what happened to Chad. He was completely drained. He was running in the mountains everyday, and after two weeks they weighed him to see how he was doing. When they weighed him, they found that he hadn't lost anything at all. The whole camp was a nightmare.

I think if Floyd fought and beat Canelo at 154, he'd gain a lot of respect.

+ for PEDs May 4th! Lanell Bellows is the rumored name. There is more circumstantial evidence pointing toward Floyd than Pacquiao at this point.

I agree, Canelo can't dictate terms, its Floyd's court, so its Floyds rules, if you want a big pay day, belt etc, go and get in. Ok you say it would kill Canelo to go to 147, so what about if Floyd goes up to 154, which floyd can't make, he usually come in at 150-151 max, and Canelo, rehydrates to 170lbs, what kind of sense does that make? Some of you guys are a special kind of stupid huh?

According to Canelo's trainer Reynose, Floyd has turned down the proposal of a catchweight.

How to back up your argument with an irrelevant example. Floyd went UP to fight Oscar. You're talking about Canelo going DOWN to 147...if Floyd was a 160 fighter then yes, Canelo should move up to meet him.

Floyd going up to meet Oscar is not similar in any way to canelo having to go down...you also ignore the fact Floyd has fought at 154 and won titles there twice, he's not moving up fresh from 147

Even though a catchweight would be fairer, he can't have the word "catchweight" attached to his fights after all the cr*p he gave Pacquiao - he knows his fans are so dumb that they will somehow think Canelo draining to 147 is a fairer fight than a 151 catchweight (as I've already seen some nuthuggers on ESB doing ) :yep

This is ESB. If Floyd Sr didn't accuse a boxer of using PEDs then these *****s won't believe anything and just say you have no proof. Sorry.

No, Floyd is cleaning up boxing with "Olympic style" testing for 2-3 months, but leaving the other 9 months free while he's inactive and working out at Mayweather Gym...

At least provide a source, dude.

Because if true, that'll be three fighters under the Mayweather banner that have been linked with banned substances.

I don't think it's just the weight that Floyd has an issue with. I think Floyd can be intimidated, and I think Canelo's confidence has had an effect on Floyd's decision. We know that Floyd must have been considering the fight at 154 in September.

We know that, because Canelo got angry and pulled out of the Guerrero card, because Floyd backtracked on his verbal agreement to fight him if they both won their fights. Floyd cannot intimidate Canelo in anyway. Canelo has huge confidence, and Psychology plays a huge part in proceedings.

When their is a real threat out their, Floyd gets very intimidated. Over the years, when there have been fighters Floyd didn't want to fight he will constantly stutter and say anything to discredit that person. When it's Ricky Hatton he will say make the ****ing fight. When it's Pacquiao....well, you know how that went.

Floyd's fought at 154 just a year ago.

He was ok to fight Oscar who weighed 165, and Cotto last year, but now it's impossible?

It was ok for him to wear the 154 belt around his waist, but now he's too small?

Floyd going up in weight, is not the same as Canelo going down.
