Nah, it wasn't cuts. He wobbled him around for a few minutes until Byrd jumped in, although no he technically never went down.

I have heard that a few times. James Toney said no one hit him harder than Barkley. I saw him hitting the mitts before the Hearns rematch, and the man looked very strong with Eddie Mustafa holding them. He doesn't have one punch power with sharpness, but he has a physical strength and a jarring power, rather than a one punch power. Hard to explain. Just a physically strong guy.

I honestly think the 37-year-old Barkley who smashed up Coetzee might have a chance against today's 50-year-old Holyfield who got wobbled by Tank Williams...

Of course, back then in 1997 the 35-year-old Holyfield who beat Tyson and Moorer would've obliterated that contemporary Barkley in no time.

Barkley is also now 53 and hasn't been active this millennium.

 

That particular "loss" was just another hometown decision.
