I like Jones...he's not a racist ******* like Hopkins..he's far more likeable and reasonable than most of the assholes around today....and i don't really think Collins would have fared too well with Jones...I meaqn,...he be strong, sturdy and courageous, but to no avail, except probably going the distance.

 

Imo Roy Jones Jr is the greatest super-middle in history. You might even be able to make a good argument for him ATG at middle & LHW (LHW late 90's) as well. He effectively went 50-0 before losing his first fight, and it took him moving up to LHW and being past his prime for it to happen. He was a phenom of boxing.

I like him also, at first I thought he was a racist when he stated Vlad had no heart because he got KO'd but then Jones learned that lesson and guess he was humbled.

Hopkins may have learned a lesson as well when IMO Joe Calzage taught him that he could lose to a white boy, for me it was revealing when Bernard went into the act of holding his groin and faking a foul several times to bide time and get some rest and hope for a DQ but film showed later that there was no low blow on any of the occasions Bernard went into his act, showing again that talk can be cheap

 

If Jones and Collins fought 15 years ago, then it would have been way 2 l8 .
Collins was 34 years old 15 years ago, and already retired & brain damaged .

 

Yes:good...and the only fight between Jones and Hopkins that mattered was their first one..and if they had met at each other's relative peak, Jones would have taken that one also..and it goes without saying that Roy's fight with Toney was a masterpiece as well.

 

And rest assured everybody...that white boy DID beat Hopkins..oh yeah, talk sure as hell is cheap.

 

I think Collins came across badly. He snapped a couple of times at Chris for insinuating that he duckef Joe, which he did.

If Toney and Benn were there the table wouldve been flipped and a ruck started.haha

 

Collins fought McCallum, Johnson and Kalambay. He had a fight with Liles lined up which fell apart because Liles did not like the money and chased Jones for years. I can't see how any case can be made for him being afraid of Calzaghe who back then was a up and coming prospect.

It should also be pointed out that he agreed to fight Calzaghe during his attempted comeback but retired after blacking out in training.

Chris is just bitter that Collins beat him twice and he really is the last person to accuse anyone of ducking.
